Vehicle Detail

Re-listing my cherished 1930 Ford Roadster. The last auction came very close to my reserve, so I lowered the reserve a bit in the hope that she will find a buyer this time around. This car was built by Ford of Canada for the Australian market, hence it is right hand drive. The car spent nearly its entire life in Australia, being brought over to the United States in 2002. I have owned it since 2003. A previous owner in Australia did a restoration which included paint and an overhaul of the engine (which is original to the car). The car runs and drives well and it looks quite presentable from 20 feet. Upon closer inspection one can notice chipped paint in a number of places, but there are no dents or cancer whatsoever. In two places the chipped paint has resulted in surface rust (see photos), but it is very, very light and easy to remedy. A nice bonus is that the seats were upgraded to leather from the original vinyl. Please note that while the odometer operates just fine, I seriously doubt that the current reading of 6,283 miles is accurate. Since owning her I have replaced all of the wiring harnesses with accurate cloth-covered reproductions; I have replaced the distributor, water pump, coil, spark plugs, and headlight switch; I have rebuilt the carburetor and the starter Bendix; and I have installed turn signals that operate via the tail lights and cowl lights. This car never fails to amaze me. I used to use her as my daily driver for several years and she never let me down. After a long absence, I went out to the garage today, turned the key and she started right up, just like she always has. I took her out for what might be my very last drive. Eighty-three years old and she still starts and runs like a champ. Henry Ford would be proud. I had planned to do a full restoration on the car but given my many other commitments that is not going to happen any time soon. I'm going to miss her, but some lucky bidder is going to be getting a GREAT and fun classic automobile. I won't disclose what the reserve is, I do not have a Buy-it-Now price, and I am not interested in any trades, but I will happily answer any and all other questions that buyers might have. To the winning bidder, a $1000 deposit is due within 48 hours of the end of the auction. The balance is due within seven days of the end of the auction. I am willing to work with overseas buyers and others who require shipping coordination, but shipping expenses are the sole responsibility of the buyer. I can also store the vehicle for a few weeks until shipping or pick up arrangements can be made. I have clear title in hand. Good luck and happy bidding!
