Vehicle Detail

For sale is this 1969 PONTIAC GTO CONVERTIBLE red on white!! This is a pretty straight car as you can see by my pictures. This is a very fast car with the original motor and transmission and rear end which is highly collectible. What a cruiser, daily driver, or a base project for someone who wants to restore this baby back to a frame off restoration. The factory a/c system is all brand new as you can see from the reciept included in the pictures. If you know how to read the original factory order sticker you can see what other options came with the car like the tach on the hood, center console even though it needs repaired, rally wheels, power steering, optional locker in the rear. The top is in great shape except the binder in back has two staples that need replaced on the left side. The back window is great and there is no tears in the top. However the automatic up and down needs help so I think the motor is worn. The top boot is perfect as well. The tires are in good shape. The spots that need fixed are shown clearly in the pictures as well. Stress cracks over the rear deck. Front stress cracks on the nose cone, or just a poor job of paint. The engine is clearly pictured as well. The carpets are in great shape and show no wear or holes or mold. The seat backs were painted and I think they used to be black, as you can see by the peeling of the paint. The seats upholstery is in great condintion with no wear showing. The engine or transmission is very tight and does not leak. The valve covers are chrome so I think they might have been replaced. What a fun car to drive. If you have any questions please call 1 208 521 6341 and ask for Roger. Thanks for looking and happy bidding. On Mar-19-13 at 10:51:41 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had a few inquiries as to the engine stamp and numbers, the stamped number is on the right rear block and is 9790071, as well as the transmission gm original stamp on the side is a 3885010 with a tiny stamp on the collar that reads pta17. Like it says in the previous description it does not leak oil. However I did lift it up on the hoist and it does have normal "seepage" that you would expect from a car this old. It is crusty with dirt so that is completley normal. The front left quarter under the battery tray is corroded from a leaky battery at sometime. I am listing this car for the bank and no matter how many times I get a call with "what would you take right now?", or I will give you this??? to take it off of the auction, or How much does the bank need? we are just going to let it run it"s course. However I will be happy to answer any questions you might have about the car. It is in my posession, and I have three full time techs to try and help you buy the car of your,or your childrens dreams. thanks rogerOn Mar-21-13 at 16:43:28 PDT, seller added the following information: OK I have more inquires about the car and will try to list them all so we can get it all straight. I have had some inquires as to the engine matching numbers. I have contacted every GTO and PONTIAC specialist about this issue and can still not find the numbers wt or ww on the front by the waterpump. They have come up with one conclusion. The original motor was warrantied by the factory or replaced by the factory and does not have numbers. They are no grind marks or funny business on the block. The top numbers next to the distributor are 3DN. Carbueator number is 7029268 and it is a Rochester for Pontiac 4 barrel built in 1968. The intake number is 9794234. The head on the right side k278 which means it was made in november 1978 just like the body tag indicates that the car was made.
