Vehicle Detail
Honda Ridgeline RTL 4WD Crew Cab. Think of Honda's best attributes--refinement, quality and innovation--then apply them to a pickup. The Honda Ridgeline doesn't look or drive like any other truck. Ridgeline drives like a roomy, comfortable car, and when you need to haul, it works well as a truck, too. Unlike a conventional pickup with its traditional "three box" (engine compartment, cab, cargo box) design, the Ridgeline's cabin and bed are integrated for better body stiffness. The Ridgeline has a stout ladder frame/unibody hybrid chassis that gives it the load capacity of a ladder frame, but with 2.5 times more bending rigidity and 20 times the torsional rigidity of a standard ladder frame chassis. This strong foundation makes possible the Ridgeline's excellent handling and ride comfort. Ridgelines are powered by a 247 hp, 3.5-liter, 24-valve VTEC V-6 engine with a five-speed automatic transmission. The advanced VTM-4 all-wheel-drive system apportions power to front or rear wheels according to conditions. This setup works impressively in winter weather; just shift to "D" and the truck optimizes traction. Ridgeline's cargo bed is made of a steel-reinforced composite. Bed length is 5 feet with the tailgate up and 6.5 feet with the tailgate down, enabling it to carry a large ATV or two dirt bikes. Independent rear suspension makes possible the in-bed trunk that distinguishes Ridgeline: a weatherproof compartment with 8.5 cubic feet of secure storage. The dual-action tailgate opens down conventionally or leftward, like a door, to allow access to the trunk. This Ridgeline has not towed though it is equipped to do so: there's a heavy-duty radiator with dual 160-watt fans, a heavy-duty power-steering cooler, a heavy-duty automatic-transmission cooler and 4-pin/7-pin trailer prewiring. With a Class 3 trailer hitch (not included) the truck can tow 5,000 lb. For a hefty truck, the Honda Ridgeline delivers a refined driving experience. The steering is weighty and communicative. The big front bucket seats are supportive and very comfortable. The ride is quiet and smooth, and there is room for five adults. Safety is paramount in a family vehicle, and the Ridgeline has top safety ratings for impact and rollover. Comprehensive safety equipment includes: Vehicle stability assist (VSA) with traction control, which helps the driver retain control on slippery curves Anti-lock braking system (ABS) with 4-channel design; each wheel is controlled individually Brake assist, which helps apply maximum braking power for an emergency stop Electronic brake distribution, which can vary for conditions braking force at each wheel Front airbags (SRS), front/rear side curtain airbags, and side-impact airbags with occupant position detection Heated side mirrors and heated wiper zone Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren (LATCH) Security system with Immobilizer theft deterrent Tire pressure monitoring system Warning lights notify driver of open tailgate, open bed trunk, and open rear window Comfort and convenience features of the Ridgeline RTL include: Power moonroof and power sliding rear cabin window Dual-zone automatic climate control with air filtration Leather heated bucket seats with driver 8-way power adjustment and power lumbar support AM/FM/XM satellite 160-watt stereo with 6-CD in-dash changer, seven speakers, amplifier and subwoofer Adjustable leather-wrapped steering wheel with cruise and audio controls Power windows with one-touch up/down for driver window Automatic power door locks with remote keyless entry 12-volt power outlets, two in front and one in rear 60/40 split fold rear seat with flat floor under seat storage and lift-up feature Multifunctional center storage console with sliding armrest Front door courtesy lights, front and rear map lights, illuminated vanity mirrors, ambient console lighting, trunk light, and auto-off integrated bed lights More features included on this vehicle: Genuine Honda RTX-style accessory grille Polk Audio speakers in place of factory door speakers Genuine Honda cargo net that hooks to tie-down cleats and covers bed with a strong nylon net to secure load Three keys and full documentation I bought this Steel Blue Metallic Ridgeline in July 2007 after extensive comparison-shopping. It's been a great vehicle for my needs. It drives essentially as good as new. It performs perfectly and has not been involved in any kind of mishap or accident. In my experience (mostly suburban driving), the truck has averaged 19 miles per gallon of regular gas. At home, this pampered truck is always garaged. The paint shines from regular waxing and frequent hand washing, and I've touched up a few small road chips. The wheels have no curb damage. The high-quality OEM Michelin LTX M/S tires show only minor wear. All interior surfaces--dash, doors, seats, headliner, carpet, and factory rubber floor mats--are clean and stain-free. Truck has never been smoked in. The soft, pliable leather upholstery is in great shape with typical minor wear on the driver’s seat bolster. The air conditioner blows cold. Every equipment item in this pickup works as intended. This truck has been reliable as sunrise. CARFAX shows no problems for this vehicle. There has been no issue with the body, drivetrain, braking, electrical, HVAC, or other major system. Two minor repairs, a cabin leak and a tear in the driver's seat, were performed under warranty. In 2010, the rear seat supports ceased to retract when the seats are raised; I chose to live with this minor malfunction rather than replace the seats. All maintenance has been performed according to the owner's manual and as advised by the truck's built-in maintenance minder. Documented services were performed at the following mileage readings. 5,559 miles 11,471 miles 16,121 miles 22,842 miles 29,074 miles 35,258 miles 42,648 miles 49,499 miles 56,475 miles 62,714 miles 68,241 miles 69,339 miles 75,288 miles There are good reasons why the Ridgeline has won so many awards. It's unbeatable as a multi-role commuter pickup and is as much truck as most suburban homeowners will ever need. With an original MSRP of $32,990, the premium RTL model is not inexpensive to buy; however, Hondas provide lasting value and are economical to operate, maintain, and insure. This truck has served my wife and me very well and I'm confident it will reward its new owner with many years of ownership satisfaction. You are invited to inspect this superb one-owner Ridgeline in Yorktown, VA. Please email or call (816)728-7106 before bidding if you have questions. This is a private sale by the truck's original owner. This vehicle is offered without reserve. The top bidder on Saturday night will be its new owner.
