1929Ford MotorCompany Model A Roadster 40-A Be sure to watch the YouTube videos below. Video of start-up was 1st try on 3/23/13 @ 42 degrees. After warm-up, ran Smooth & Quiet on a 10 mile jaunt & back to the barn. Solid, unmolested car purchased in `54 by present owner & restored to original condition in 1959, going on to win National AACA at Hershey & numerous other awards. 17,695 miles since a superbly & correctly done total restoration 54 YEARS AGO! This very sharp Model A is a true Champion that has certainly been sorted out & has a beautiful patina that befits its age. Comes with its original 1929 Pennsylvania License Plate & Ford Tools! *For 30 More pictures of undercarriage etc. please click on “about me” below or me under Seller Info above & follow instructions:* about me ~ CONDITION ~Exterior: All original, solid, rust-free metal showing its 54 Year Old Restoration. Lacquer respray w/ pin-stripping varies from good w/ high luster to poor w/ characteristic spider–webbing & larger cracking primarily on either side of rumble seat & usual slight chipping around bonnet hinges etc. All correct nickel plating has finish loss & chrome on dual mirrors has some pitting. Correct, fluted `29 lights work as does the wiper. Glass is good, wheels have some paint chipping & 3 WARDS RIVERSIDE 4.40/4.50 21 & 1 Goodrich tires have excellent tread w/ some slight, visible dry rot on a couple. Top is very substantial & in very good condition w/ side flaps & yellowed windows, no side curtains, but has boot cover & Repro Trunk (possibly for a `30-`31) w/ some goodies in it - Ford tools, parts, Champion plugs in original boxes etc. Horn tries to Oog Ah, but contacts need cleaning. If you’re 84, how’s your voice? Interior: Door panels & seat are good w/ edge of front of seat beginning to split. Interior of top & hardware are very good. All gauges work on instrument cluster that has finish loss w/ some pitting & surface rust. Dash paint is shiny w/ some pin sized bubbling. Steering wheel has paint loss. Engine/Driveline: Engine (built February 1929) runs very strong & quietly w/ no carb, oil or radiator leaks. Serial number on engine pad is obliterated, normal due to age, resto, heat or coolant, don’t know. Trans shifts well & brakes are good. 17,695 miles on `59 engine rebuild. Undercarriage: Looks like it was done a few years ago! Clean, dry, no leaks, no rust, basically just needs dusting. Owner always wiped it down after tours & the care shows. Road Test/Mechanically: Runs & drives beautifully w/ no problems. SUMMARY AMAZING! An 84 year old car that was restored 54 years ago that is this reliable & still looks this good. This is a testament to the restoration & pride of ownership. The Family believes a shop on Rising Sun Ave. Philadelphia, PA did the resto & any AACA member may research the car’s awards; no records remain in the family.
