Vehicle Detail

Hello all you sport touring riders out there! looking for a great deal on a late model Triumph Sprint St? Here it is Let me first tell you about the model. Back in 1998-99 Triumph introduced the Sprint ST model line. They were GREAT sellers, with 955cc in line three cylinder water cooled, fuel injected engines mated to a six speed transmission. The engine had the torque of a v-twin, and the revability of an in line four. The bike was available with quick detatch rear bags and became a favorite of long distance riders who liked to ride a little quicker than most. It sold especially well to sportbike riders who wanted more comfort and luggage capacity than their sportbikes allowed. IT really stole sales from Kawasaki's Concourse as it was much lighter, quicker and more nimble. Also, It was ESPECIALLY well suited to two up riding. In 2005 Triumph recognized that the original ST was getting a little "long in the tooth" so to speak, especially when compared to the Ducati ST4 and the new Concourse Kawasaki introduced. So, they made this bike, the new Sprint ST 1050. The 1050 engine is much quicker, the fuel injection much sharper, and the instrumentation allowed the rider to keep track of many more functions such as mpg, average speed, top speed, trip mleage and time, etc.. lots more data at the fingertips of the rider on his journey. The bike is a bit narrower, leans thru the corners much better, more predictably (more sportbike like) and the weight is better centered due to the really cool undertail exhaust. The bags remained great, quick detatch, and easy to carry away with lots of room inside. The only negative of this version of the ST is that the passenger isn't quite as comfortable as he/she were on the older ST. This bike again competed very well with the Duc and Kaw until the new generation of Sport Tourers were born compliments of Yamaha with the FJR1300. Triumph again went back to the drawing board and is now ready to launch the new Triumph Trophy 1200 to compete with Yamaha and BMWs latest and greatest. So, now that you know all that history lets talk about this particular bike. her previous owner Eric is a real long distance rider. Eric has a multitude of Sport Tourers including a Duc and Aprillia. He puts ALOT of miles on his bikes. Erics favorite ride was this bike, and he put nearly 46,000 trouble free miles on her before he traded her in on a new Sprint about a year and a half ago. (I'm sure we'll see Eric this year for a new Trophy!). I then took posession of this bike and rode it all of last year myself. It a great bike. It needs nothing. We just put a new chain and sprocket kit on her, changed her fluids, so she's ready to go again. Do not be intimidated by the mileage. We are seeing 150,000 trouble free miles on well maintained bikes like this ST. 50,540 miles means she's fully broken in and ready to chug along for the long haul! What's wrong/damaged with/on it? Well, there is a properly repaired crack on right front fairing and a scuff at the fairing corner, and the right saddlebag has had a crack repaired. Eric had a lowside drop on this bike at about mileage 25,000 during an unpredicted right turn/traffic light intersection. (wet roads, car forced him to lock up brakes suddenly) The left rear saddlebag is scratched up a bit (wasn't fastened properly and popped off on me). All that can be seen in the photo's I took. That's it. Buy it and ride it. NOW is a great time to buy a bike before the spring season hits and our used inventory is GONE. FYI, the bike sold new for $11,000 plus $880 for the saddlebags. Current NADA retail value is $7,455. It will sell for MUCH less! Low reserve, bid to win. Successful bidder must pay $200 deposit via PayPal at auction close, balance due with 7 days. Winning bidder responsible for picking up the bike or shipping it home. Check out some online shipping companies like motorcycleshippers.com for a rate from us (Windber, PA 15963) to you.
