Vehicle Detail
2005 Toyota Prius 1.5L Hybrid w/ Navigation The winner of this auction will have a great car at a great value. Kelly Blue Book values this car as follows: Excellent Condition ----------------- $9,280; Very Good Condition --------------- $8,930; Good Condition ---------------------- $8,655. You are bidding on an 2005 ultra fuel efficient Toyota Prius with lots of extras, including my favorite, navigation. I have had this car for 2 years and she has been very good to me. I typically fill up every 450 miles, and use 10 gallons of gas to do it. This mileage blows other hybrids away, especially the Civic hybrid ( we have one of those too ). I am letting go of it because my company has given me full time use of the company car, so there is no use keeping this one around. Please bid with confidence – this car is in VERY GOOD condition. I am the second owner of the vehicle. I actually bought it off ebay in January 2011 in Philadelphia, PA. Please come by (near downtown Atlanta) and look at it and please message me with any questions. You can email me personally at jamespaisley@yahoo.com or call/text my cell at 770-265-4630. Here is as much information as I can possibly think of, and I might edit this as I think of info on the car: TITLE/HISTORY The car has a clean title and never been in an accident. I am the second owner. The first owner was someone in the northeast/New York/Philadelphia, and I bought the car 2 years ago at 67,000 miles from a small dealer. I drove it down from Philadelphia and never have had a real problem other that routine maintenance. ENGINE/TRANSMISSION 1.5L 4 cylinder Toyota hybrid technology. The gas mileage gets on average 45 mpg. The EPA factory estimate is slightly exaggerated and bogus, and the real mileage is approximately 50mpg on the highway, and 42mpg in the city. I really don’t care what gas prices do with this car. The condition is “very good” as defined by Kelly Blue Book. There are no needed repairs, and in fact at 99,000 miles I had a lot of maintenance done, and will give the records. I just replaced the 12v battery. While there, Toyota replaced the water pump and the central computer system. The oil has been changed on time and regularly and will not need one for 3,000 miles. There are no funny noises or pending repairs needed. Please know that this engine uses a timing CHAIN (they never break), and therefore does not need timing belt replacement at ~100,000 miles. The hybrid battery is working great. Typically those do not need replacing until at least 150k miles – my friend just replaced his at 185K miles. Nothing leaks at all. The transmission is not a shifting type automatic, but gradually takes you up through the gears – this is a Prius feature, and it takes a little getting used to if you’re not familiar with the Prius model. No leaks, and never had any problems. ELECTRICAL This car features keyless entry. I have 1 key fob for the buyer. Power windows and power locks work great. I never had an issue there. The touch screen Navigation/AC/Heating interface is very easy to use. Most of the car can be controlled through the touch screen. The navigation saves hundreds of previous addresses for you. All interior lights and electrical components work great. The bonus fog lights do not work – they never worked for me and I never got them fixed. They are unnecessary but I imagine it’s just a fuse. Personally I wouldn’t bother. I just replaced both headlight bulbs – be glad you won’t have to mess with that as the bulbs are $250 each. The rear tag light was also just replaced. BODY/EXTERIOR This car also features a brand new paint job (~6 months ago). Since the car spent the first part of her life in the northeast the paint job was somewhat faded and had a few too many scratches for my taste, so I got her painted the same color, black. You can see from the pictures how good the paint looks. Every time I wash the car I use a clear coat paint protector to make sure it stays nice and shiny. There is some minor curb damage on the bottom right side of the vehicle. You have to look somewhat close to notice it. It was there when I bought it, and when I had the car painted they were able to pull out most of the dent. I included this in the pics. There are a couple very minor small dents that you expect on a 2005 vehicle. The pictures show everything. The tires will need replacing in the next 7,000-10,000 miles. They do have some life left so there is no point in replacing them just yet. Luckily Prius tires are small and relatively inexpensive. The wheels are alloy wheels and are also in very good condition. BRAKES The car features new front rotors and brake pads. The rear brakes are in great shape and need nothing. INTERIOR The interior color is light tan as you can see. Very clean interior and I am non-smoker. There are no stains are weird odors in the car. I have used the car mostly for business travel so my kid and dogs have stayed out of it. The glove box, console, and stereo console have lots of storage for a small/midsize vehicle. This car surprisingly doubles as a utility vehicle. I can transport almost anything in this car. When I re-did my master bathroom, I put the seats down, and loaded 1,000 lbs of tile in the back and the car and it moved just like normal. I have transported large TV’s, Christmas trees, landscape supplies, etc. PERFORMANCE/Overall The Prius is a great car. Highly fuel efficient and very easy to drive. You might not win a drag race but you’ll never have to stop for gas so that makes any trip faster. With increasing fuel prices, these cars are treasures. The engine is very quiet and gives off little heat. The air conditioning system works great in the summer, and the heat works great as well in the winter. I typically just use the automatic thermostat to keep comfortable and just tell the car what temperature I want it at. The car also features voice command functions. I rarely use them but they work for navigation, heating/air, and the stereo. I have tried to include every possible detail about this car, but I am sure I’m forgetting something. Please call/text/message me this week with any questions. Please bid with confidence as this car will sell on a NO RESERVE auction this week. Although it is a no reserve format, I have a number in mind that I would like to get for the car. If you want the car, message me and tell me what you want to offer. When there is 24 hours left in the auction, no offers will be entertained as Ebay will not let me take it off at that point. jamespaisley@yahoo.com OR phone/text @ 770.265.4630 Good Luck!
