Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is this rare all original 1926 Chrysler Roadster. You don't see many of these, much less with the chance to own! It has a low vin#. I believe it is one of the first Chryslers that still remain. This car is 100% solid throughout with no patch panels or bondo. Looks to have had a 15-20 yr. old restoration done on it. The fenders are dent free, doors close nicely and stay closed, as do the trunk and hood. There are 2 very small dings on the drivers door, otherwise the body is very straight. The top is in ince shape and not rotted, but does show some aging.(Possibly could stain, but no holes or rips) Bows for the top are in excellent shape. THe wooden spokes are solid and tight. The tires have some checking from age, however never leak air and have good tread. I drove it las summer alot with no problem. All four hubcaps are perfect-look like new with no scratches. The car has the original flathead six that has been rebuilt. Car has a 3 spd transmission that shifts smoothly, but is not synchronized in low gear. It has a new clutch, throw-out bearing and pressure plate. There is no clutch slippage. I drove this car often last summer around the coutry-side and in parades and had no trouble. It starts, drive, runs & stops good. The brakes could use some fine tuning as the linings are new. The e-brake works and holds the car on an incline. The glass is good, however, needs a bracket on the wind wings brazed. The lights work good. It does need a new speedo cable as the end is broke. The interior is nice, however the dash could use some repainted around the gauge cluster. It has a very nice wooden steering wheel that really looks cool! THe frame of the car is clean an has been painted. The trunk is clean and 100% solid around the wheel wells and pan. THe bumpers are nice but not perfect with a small amount of pitting. The radiator shell is in nice shape and the radiator itself is good and doesn't leak. The car runs cool and doesn't overheat. The engine does not smoke. In review, this is an ultr-rare car that is solid, starts easily, runs and idles smoothly, doesn't wobble going down the road. It would be a good daily driver that you wouldn't see often. You'd be the only guy at the car show with a '26 Chrysler Roadster! Please email with any questions or to exchange phone numbers to further discuss this car prior to the end of the auction. The buyer is responsible to arrange and pay for transportation or pick up of this vehicle. The car is currently stored in a garage and can remain there for up to 30 days.
