Offered again. Sadly, after the auction ended, the winner wanted out of the Auction due to a Wife being Angry. Yes, this is very frustrating. (Had 12 bids from 7 different bidders so this guy could jump in at the last second, win and then change his mind.....seriously!) This is a 5 day auction now and It's going to the crusher this time if it doesn't sell, I just want the car off my driveway. This car was given to me by a local woman. There is no serial number on the car or VIN. I've tried to get paperwork from her but it just doesn't exist. This is a borderline car, it could go either way, restoration or parts car. My thinking is that it's a parts car but then I'm not familiar with Fords and Thunderbirds. (one ebayer came to view the car last Saturday and also felt it was a parts car, not worth restoring) It's not loaded with options, my thought is that it's not that particularly special or rare for being a T-bird. The engine is stuck, none of the wheels roll, the tires are junk. The car was painted in (circa) 1988 and that paint is peeling off the roof, trunk, hood and sides of the car. There are two rust holes not that big under the front seat and passenger seat.....they are repairable. The interior is all there. There was some customizing with locating radio speakers in really a horrible place, right in the middle of the dash on the right side, it really takes away from the look of the dash.....but that being said, the seats are okay all the chrome is there in the car. The headliner is falling out. I'm selling this as a parts. This is sold with just a bill of sale....(with no reference to any VIN) It's going to be sold simply as 1966 Ford Parts. Thanks for the interest. It may come with keys, I'm still waiting on them from the previous owner. To be clear, the VIN number has been removed from the Driver's Door, Radiator Support, Cowl and assumed inside the Air Vent on the cowl (too much crud to actually see if it's there) Maine doesn't issue titles on vehicles this old. This will only have a bill of sale for Parts. This car was last registered in 1988 and no copies of the registration can be found to date. The State of Maine will not release copies of registrations and not disclose the name of the previous owner. On Jan-29-13 at 08:22:41 PST, seller added the following information: There is a VIN now for the car. After using a lot of sand paper, and WD-40, the VIN on the cowl revealed it's self as 6Y83Z169676 A z code 390 built in Wixom Michigan. A State DMV check proved the car is not stolen. The Bill of Sale will be provided selling this as a 1966 Ford with the above VIN number. There is still no title for the car, Maine won't issue one for a vehicle this old. If you win, you can leave the car as long as you want in my driveway but there will be a storage charge of 80 per month starting 30 days from the Auctions end. 10 years ago, i sold a car to a guy and it was in my garage for 2 years before he came to pick it up. A few years later, I sold a car and it never got picked up period, the buyer paid for it and I never heard from him again. The Storage Charge is an incentive to pick the car up as soon as you can. No problem with the first month, but then after that, you have to pay to store it. Hope you all can appreciate that.
