Vehicle Detail
1978 Ford F-150 Ranger XLT Lariat 4x4. 6.6 Litre 400 Modified, C6 Automatic transmission, NP 205 (married)Transfer case, Dana 44 (high pinion) front axle, Ford 9" rear axle with factory posi. Originally purchased in Silver City New Mexico, I am the second owner, purchased from a friend. I bought the truck with an engine knock. I had the engine professionally rebuilt about 2500 miles ago. New crankshaft, new pistons, new camshaft, new bearings, new Edelbrock intake manifold, new carbureator, new belts and hoses, new radiator, new headers, new custom dual 2 1/2" exhaust, new M/T wheels, new tires, etc... The truck runs and drives excellent, lots of power. A/C works excellent. Original AM radio works, I don't know if the 8 track works. I have the original ash tray that goes where the 8 track is. Overall the truck is unmolested, original jack is still in place. I also have the original intake manifold, carbureator and exhaust manifolds. The truck has many minor knicks, scratches and dents, NO rust. The only major damage is on the top left of the tailgate, seen in pictures. The original owner died and left it to his wife, therefore it has a "C" title. As seen in the pictures I have the original window sticker, owner's manual and even the purchase agreement. Too much to list, if I have missed anything please feel free to ask. Serious inquiries only please. Payment in form of cash or certified check only. Payment in full due within 72 hours of auction end. On Jan-01-13 at 06:34:34 PST, seller added the following information: The paint, interior and engine are original. Due to the low mileage the engine did not require boring upon rebuild. The crankshaft is new, not remanufactured. The camshaft, lifters and valvesprings were upgraded with a modern cam (Comp Cams XE256H) to provide better economy and power. According to Desktop Dyno the engine produces 320 horsepower and 470 lb. ft. torque. I did not wash or detail the truck, as you can see in the pictures. I was planning on having the truck painted and relacing the rear bumper with a chrome bumper. I have located a tailgate in trade for $100, it will need paint to match . Issues/problems: Power steering pump leaks, Cruise Control needs a clip, Fuel gauge reads rear tank not front, Seat has a tear on driver side (seen in pics), and the tailgate handle does not work. I am not interested in trades, please don't ask.On Jan-06-13 at 14:05:37 PST, seller added the following information: The interior is in good condition, great condition if you consider that it is 35 years old. The headliner has no damage, the visors have no damage, the dash has no cracks, the carpet has some light stains and sun bleaching. Over $5000. invested in the last 6 months, less than 2500 miles. The truck gets alot of attention, constant compliments. The truck starts perfectly, whether cold or hot. Once again there is NO RUST on this truck, solid floor pans and rockers. The body overall is straight and solid. The minor scratches and dents mentioned are exactly that, minor. I got a quote for $2000 from a local body shop for body work and complete paint. I had this truck built for my wife, she decided that she wanted a smaller truck. I hate to sell it, but I have no need for it. Bid with confidence, it is a great truck.
