LOADED 2 Owner 1987 GMC SIERRA CLASSIC 4X4 TRUCK W NOS parts INCL chevy 87 First things first to eliminate some questions : I am not interested in any trades. I am not interested in any offers. Yes , you are more than welcome to see the truck by appointment before you bid All test drives will be driven by me beings there is no collision on my insurance policy. If you know you dont have the money , please spare both of us the time as Im sure your time is as valuable as mine is. Thanks for looking . Up for auction is my 1987 GMC Sierra Classic 4X4 . I have owned this truck over 19 years & I bought it from one of my best friends who bought it brand new . It has never been abused or modified . I have every tag , service papers , brochures & the build sheet from when the truck was new . I always took good care of this truck because I knew these were next in line for the truck guys after the 67-72's dried up . In addition it was so heavily loaded with options for a truck in the 1980's that it would be well worth restoring some day. Well I think that day is just about here & it certainly would be the easiest thing I ever tried to restore if I had the time to do it. There is not 1 single hole drilled anywhere that the factory did not put there . When it was new a trailer hitch & trailer brakes were added , but the brake control was mounted to existing holes . I also put front mud flaps on it to help keep road debris off the sides . These are also mounted in W/W molding screw holes . When my friend ordered it , he ordered every option he saw available including the optional fuel injection . This was the first year you could get the FI & the last year they also offered a carburetor however the tach was listed in the sales brochure , but not available to be ordered with the 87 model. The only thing he forgot to order not knowing it was an option was a rear bumper , so the one you see on it was a dealer installed aftermarket which was much cheaper than a GM bumper. This truck was never my primary vehicle , but I did use it as a truck not a Sunday driver . I hauled many car parts & such to the swap meets in it over the years & used it when the roads were bad .It has always been garaged since Ive owned it & much of the time before that. I would never let people lean on it & never left it near other cars in the parking lot unless it was 100% unavoidable. When I bought it , the original seat cover was starting to wear , so I put a cover over it , which is now worn out . It has hands down been the most reliable vehicle Ive ever owned . It still runs great & the 4WD works perfectly however the AC does need to be charged again. It was already converted over to R134 when the compressor was replaced a few years back . Most of the truck still had its original paint however it needs to be repainted . The gray on the RH side of the bed was peeling & I just brushed gray paint over it to keep it from rusting. The engine & trans have never been apart & are the original ones . The tires , shocks , brakes , battery have less than 1500 miles on them . The muffler & tail pipe have about 300 miles or less on them . I have extra belts & hoses that I always carried with me to go with the truck. Some other things I did replace over the years were the water pump , starter , AC compressor , cataletic converter, RH fuel tank , U joints & rear axle bearings & axle shafts . Options Sierra Classic 4x4 1/2 ton , 350 FI , Automatic 700R4 transmission , limited slip 3.42 posi rear , power steering , power brakes , AC , tilt , AM FM stereo Cassette , power door locks ,power windows , sliding rear window front bumper guards , 2 tone paint blue / gray with red accent stripe & lower side moldings & medium blue cloth interior . Under the hood , other than normal maintenance items , its untouched with nothing missing or altered other than the wire for the trailer brakes which hooks to a junction block . I was always picky about peoples hands being clean inside the truck , so everything inside is still in real decent shape . There are a few light scratches on the glove box door . The seat cover I put over the seat is worn out . The dash pad has a split in front of the driver which happened about 3 years ago . The carpets are a bit faded & need cleaning , but are un ripped. The original floor mats are faded , but are not ripped . The tilt column is still tight as new because I would never use the wheel to pull myself up into the truck because it always breaks the column over time . The original AM FM cassette radio still plays fine . All the gauges work fine . The headliner was falling down so I just pulled it out , but I still have it to go with the truck . The power windows still work , but the power door lock on the drivers door quit on me a while back. The passengers side one still works fine . The truck had a cap on it almost the entire time I had it so the bed liner is in decent shape . I did have to touch to worn paint across the top of the tail gate . The underneath is un-altered. It has a couple small oil leaks as most 25+ year old vehicles do , but never had a history of leaking very much at all so there are a few areas that should be cleaned up with a sandblaster when the truck is restored . The top of the front rear has surface rust that needs to be taken care of as well as other areas here & there . Its just surface rust , but should be treated to help preserve the condition of the truck . The spare tire rack has a bar that is rusted through & should be replaced , but I have yet to find one to replace it with . Exterior . The windshield is fogged a little around the edges & has been that way since the truck was about 3 years old . There is also a small star chip which never kept it from going through inspection. (Inspected in NJ through 10/13 ). There is a light crease in the RH front fender where a tree branch fell & hit it about 12 years ago . I also dinged the tailgate when I forgot to put the trailer handle down once . I also put a small dent under the LH tail light with a trailer tool box years back , but had that fixed. The bed has no rust holes or repaired rust , same with the roof , hood , tail gate & fenders . The doors started to bubble along the bottoms . There is no way to repair the bottom of the door skin & make it look perfect on the underneath so I bought 1 used RH door thats real nice . You'll may need to pick up a left one . I also bought a used tail gate molding / panel after I dented the one that's still on it & that will be included . The rocker panels have some surface rust starting from the road sand that's chipped the paint over the years . I'm not sure how they will come up after they are sandblasted so I would plan on replacing them just incase they have hidden holes . I have 1 NOS rocker panel you can have incase you need it. It has light surface rust & needs to be glassbeaded before its installed. There is half dollar size hole in the LH cab corner that need a piece welded into it & there is a bubbled area on the RH cab corner which will need the same repair . As far as accidents , this truck has need pretty lucky for its age & for the amount I used it . When it was new he friend bumped into the spare tire rack of an old Bronco II & put a small dent in the hood. Rather than fix it , he put a brand new GM hood on it so there is no repair work in the hood . It also got hit with a shopping cart in the left front fender when it was almost new & that was fixed right after it happened . In 1999 I was at a red light & a car hit the car behind me & that car slid into my rear bumper . Didn't hurt my truck much at all thanks to my trailer hitch . The bumper that is on the truck right now is the same rear bumper that got bumped into in 1999 so you can see it wasn't bad at all . The body was undamaged from the accident . I am also including 1 NOS front fender emblem & the 3 letters in the grill which are new in the boxes . Well I guess that covers just about everything . I do have a number of other nos & used parts such as doors & some trim & bumpers I bought over the years for the truck that will be offered for sale to the buyer only after the truck is sold & paid for. There isnt much I dont know about this truck so feel free to ask questions. I want it to go to a good home where the the proper restoration will be done on it . To be paid for in cash & cash only at time of pickup within 10 days of sale ending . If being shipped , it must be paid via wire transfer or cashiers check within 3 days . Cashiers check payments will require 10 days after funds are deposited before the vehicle is released . If shipped , must be picked up within 3 weeks of funds clearing . Any shipping & insurance will be at the buyers expense & the title must be transfered into your name prior to it being shipped . There is no warranty on this vehicle. NOS parts that I will offer separately to the buyer are 2 doors still in the GM boxes , chrome rear step bumper , front bumper & a few other items . I also have a nice set of matching blue door panels & seat belts that I kept as spares . The aluminum cap that Ive had on the truck for years which fits over the tie down studs is $125.00 . None of these parts are for sale until the truck is sold & paid for .
