I am a retired diesel mechanic and perform all the services needed to all my vehicles to keep them properly maintained (with the exception of the transmission repair - that was done at Whites Transmission Inc). I bought this Dodge 4 years 12-08 ago and it had 157,948 miles, it also had all the little electrical issues when I bought it and I have not had any new issues arise. At that time I did the tie rod ends, power steering box, ALL fluids replaced (except antifreeze), ALL filters replaced. 2-3-09 White Transmission tune up, replaced solenoid & press. sensor, filter & fluid Installed 5th wheel ball - reese 4-20-09 162306miles filter & oil - Engine, radiator flushed & fluid replaced 11-09 oil-fuel-air filter replaced + oil 11-10 rear break drums + shoes front pads trans checked at whites 2-11 hydraulic break booster pump 3-11 186500miles oil filter - fuel filter - lift pump replaced 7-12 206732miles oil filter - fuel & air filter 10-12 transmission overhual 212,403 miles: rebuild kit, filter, front band, reverse band, shift kit, pump bushing, bearing kit, bearing (output shaft), overdrive clutch snap ring, direct clutch snap ring, front band strut, power wedge strut, aluminum acc. piston, forward clutch hub, overdrive / tcc solenoid, governor pressure solenoid, governor pressure sensor, output speed sensor, converter (22-19 s/d) Parts: $1474.57 Rebuild, flush transmission cooler and lines Labor: $1200 Everyone is concerned about leaks and engine condition. The engine and truck runs just like it should. With that being said I did check over the whole engine for leaks of any kind and the only thing I could find was a slight oil leak starting at the rear main seal. Please ask any and all questions. The rear main does NOT have a problem. I also had some questions asking if the block was a 53 and from what I found on the internet for location of the casting number...this block is NOT a 53 casting.
