Vehicle Detail
montiicristo Store This is a 1972 Mercedes Benz 280se, 6 cylinder, automatic, a low 88,282 miles, comes with a clear Massachusetts title and just passed inspection. I bought this car recently for my business, and was going to give her a fresh coat of paint and signage but, I found a 68’ MB 230 Fintail that suits my needs better so, this one has to go: Opportunity knocks! No Reserve! I will describe this vehicle to the best of my ability and tell you all I know. (The Becker car radio is not included in sale). The previous owner stated recent maintenance included: New brakes, muffler, oil change, plugs, fuel filter, reverse light, over $2900 invested however, I can’t confirm the monetary investment. THE CHALLENGES: The front part of the frame is rusted, (in front of the wheels) looks to be Mickey Moused, (see pics) and may need attention. There appears to be a small crack on one of the exhaust pipes, which could simply be fixed with muffler tape. The paint is flaked on the hood, roof, and trunk (pics). The good news is; this is an easy, economical sand and prep, lots of room to work, no need to remove and chrome, etc There is surface rust on the top of the fenders by the headlights and a few small rust spots on vehicle (pics). The two front power windows can slip when going up/down. The rear windows work fine. The dash cover is cracked, the “infamous” defrost wood trim is in tough shape, and the wood trim on the two front windows could be replaced. Needs dash light. A/C needs a charge. THE GOOD STUFF: This car just passed inspection, starts every time, has a smooth idle, is a driver and runs well. The floors are in excellent shape (pics) as well as the trunk. New muffler and brakes. The chrome is in very good condition. The interior, seats are in very good condition (small tear on drivers, pic). The headliner is in very good shape, except for a small “M&M” size hole, and the rear is pulling off slightly. Four matching Toyo tires with 75 % tread. THE PLAY: Everything is here depending what you want to put into it. You can drive as is, or sand down the body areas described and paint for short money. This is an excellent opportunity to own a Mercedes 280SE as, I have to sell now. Bid to win with NO RESERVE! Thank you and good luck- Any questions please feel free to contact me. If you are local and would like to inspect the vehicle, please contact me to arrange. This is an “AS IS” sale, and no warranties are stated or implied.
