***1978 FORD LTD STATION WAGON ONLY 75K MILES RUNS DRIVES GREAT*** ***400 V-8 ENGINE --- PS PDB AC --- LOTS OF CARGO ROOM*** This is a 1978 Ford LTD station wagon for sale. This car still has the original paint and interior. It only has 75,582 miles. It was  owned by a doctor until recently. He and his wife bought the car in 1983 when it had about 60K miles on it. They registered the  car as an antique in 2003 and seldom drove it. The car starts up, runs and drives well. It floats down the road. The car has power  steering, power brakes and working air conditioning. The AC was serviced in 2011 and a new compressor was installed. The  back glass is power and works. This is a 6-passenger wagon with lots of storage/cargo area in the back. The car has some dings  and scratches as you'd expect with the original paint. The driver door needs some adjustment but if you get used to it you have no  trouble shutting it. The car has a State of Virginia safety inspection sticker that is valid until the end of January 2013. Everything  works as far as I can tell except the power door lock. It makes a noise like it is working but the locks don't move. Original  AM/FM radio plays. The owner is a buddy who asked me to list it. No signs of rust, rot; car is solid and it runs and drives fine. You don't see these everyday. All glass is nice, back window is power and works It has four Bridgestone thin whitewall radial tires You can drive it home Grill is like new, chrome is in great shape for its age It has a trailer hitch and rear window defroster Interior is also green and in great shape except for a couple of places. You can see the carpet is damaged at the driver left  foot. Front seat Nice dash - this car has been garage kept It has all the seat belts 75,582 miles - all the warning lights come on when you turn the key and go off when the engine starts Original AM/FM radio plays, looks like a knob is missing. The blower fan runs and the AC works. Switch to the left works  the rear power window. LTD trim on dash - owner leaves key in glove box so he won't lose it Dome light works Door panels are in nice condition Back seat Car has low mileage and you can tell by the condition Door panels Driver door panel has button for power lock and remote mirror Original sticker on door jamb Lots of room - it has a carpet for the cargo area. Note two places former owner taped headliner. I'm guessing it was torn when  loading something. Driver side storage area - note wires for trailer hitch Passenger side Remove panel for access to spare Lift two doors open to access more storage area Tailgate opens like this. It may open the other way; I didn't know how to open it the other way. The engine is a 400 V-8 that starts right up; needs to warm up a little and it is ready to go.  Engine runs smooth and quiet. I did not see any leaks of any kind. According to receipts I found the radiator was replaced in October 2011; the fuel tank replaced in 2005; the choke, AC  compressor, AC charged with Freon in May 2011; carburetor rebuilt and fuel filter replaced in 2011. Work was done by a local  shop. Power disc brakes Original decal and stamp on valve cover Power steering works fine. AC compressor has been replaced and the air worked when used this summer. Note pink sticker on air pollution part Underside of the hood has insulation VIN is 8B74S181048 - the S is for the 400 V-8 engine Owner's manual plus the car comes with some paperwork on repairs done the last few years Grill looks sharp Paint has some scratches - these on the front are the worse ones on the car. It also has some dings as you'd expect to get over  the years. Bumper has a bow from I'm guessing trailer towing See the lines for the defroster Taillight and bezel Car is solid with no indications of rust or rot. Tailpipe looks clean and fairly new. Large side glass - this vehicle has plenty of room to carry stuff Passenger side rear wheel area Passenger side glass All doors open and close easily except driver door that could use some adjustment  Antiques don't have to be inspected in Virginia but previous owner had it inspected. Sticker is valid until the end of January  2013. It means several of the car's systems were checked and found in safe working order.
