Vehicle Detail

Lowered reserve price. Fully restored custom interior, with freshly rebuilt buick 350 V8 engine (new crankshaft, main, rod and crank bearings, pushrod oiling hydraulic lifters, rocker arm assemblies, milled heads, water pump, starter, seals, etc.) and 2bbl rochester carburetor just installed less than 100 miles ago. Four row radiator. Exterior paint is a little faded/rough on 7 yr old interior and exterior paint job, but body is 100% straight with only one tiny rust bubble at the bottom corner of the front passenger door (see photos) - would just need a quick exterior respray to look amazing. Floor pans have been previously repaired with riveted aluminum panels. CA black plate car in our family since 1972 - the only examples I've seen of these for sale have been rusted through. This is a 1965 registered vehicle with all the drivetrain and chassis upgrades of the 1969 wagoneer. This means factory stock upgrades to the following: Iconic "Dauntless" Buick 5.7 liter V8 Engine, Posi-traction rear end, TH400 auto transmission, 4 wheel drive, power steering, power brakes, all while retaining the beautiful grill that had already faded into obscurity by 1969... This jeep is the true beginning of the american SUV, and runs great! Points replaced by electronic ignition. All electrical and lights work beautifully. Wired for towing with a hitch. Over $1400 spent in interior work - respringing and reupholstering seats, new headliner, door panels, sunvisors, carpet... the works. Over $1100 spent in new rear differential gearing less than 500 miles ago. Clear title, never an accident. Several boxes of spare parts go with the sale - from original radios and instrument clusters to door knobs and cables, extra upholstery fabric, seat springs, everything you would expect from a family who has owned this vehicle for 40 years. Everything is working except the fuel and temp gauges on the cluster, and the heater cable just came loose. I have two extra clusters that come with the sale - one is the 1969 style, and one is the 1965 style. I also have an extra heater cable that comes with the sale. 10 minute jobs, but with a new baby and packing for a move, 10 minutes is hard to find. Radio is currently removed but two original radios come with the sale. Tires have lots of tread but are older and somewhat weathered, and you may want to replace them if you plan to drive the vehicle over long distances or more than just recreationally. Axle gearing is 4:10 in the rear, so though this old boy will cruise at 60-65 mph, you will blow things up at 80 mph. Please ask questions, and be aware I have this vehicle advertised locally and this auction may end early if the vehicle is sold locally. Clear and current title in California. Check out the new Jeep J-12 concept (photo attached) and the obvious tribute to this wagoneer's front end and classic hubcaps!
