This clean 1991 Volkswagen Corrado was donated to the California Automobile Museum.
Exterior
The exterior of this VW is extremely clean and well taken care of. The black paint has a very nice shine for it's age. I am unaware of it being repainted an any point, and if it has they did an excellent job of doing so. There arent any dents or dings on this Corrado. The body is very straight and looks to be rust free and very solid. The front bumper has some small rock chips but are not excessive. Both doors as well as the rear hatch open and close solidly and the seals look to be in good shape. The left headlight and running light lens have been replaced at some point as they look new compared to the right side. All of the lenses are in good shape and are not cracked or broken. The glass is all intact and clear. The 15 inch BBS wheels are in good shape and the Pirelli P700 205/50-VR15 tires have good tread left on them.
Interior
The interior of this VW is very clean and does not look as though it has 172k miles on it. The leather seats are in great shape with the drivers seat showing the most wear which is minimal. The wear is mostly on the side bolsters of the seat. The carpeting is clean and has minimal wear as there are floor mats that have probably helped to keep the carpet in good shape. The headliner is nice but does have some spots on it that may be able to be cleaned up. The dash is very nice and does not have any cracks in it.
Mechanical
This Volkswagen seems to be mechanically sound. It runs well and the automatic transmission shifts as it should. The engine looks to have a small oil leak but where it is coming from is unknown. It also looks like there is/was a small coolant leak but when we took it to have the smog check done the mechanic may have tightened a clamp as he told the person he made an "adjustment" on the cooling system. All of the gauges in the dash seem to work fine. The AC blows cold and the blower motor works in all positions. The electric windows and sunroof all work as they should. The automatic shoulder seatbelts work properly when you open and close the doors. The stereo however does not work and the reason is unknown.
Overview
Overall this Volkswagen Corrado is in great shape and looks like it has been well taken care of throughout its life. The CARFAX report came up clean with NO accidents. This vehicle was originally purchased in California and spent time in the Southern California area till 2002. It was then in Missouri for a short period of time before it came back to California in 2006. This vehicle, and all vehicles sold through us are sold AS-IS with no warranty intended or implied by the California Automobile Museum or its consignor/donor. All sales are final, and in there is no cooling off period in California. By bidding, you acknowledge this and agree your purchase will be AS-IS.
This Vehicle's mileage is subject to increase as it may be test driven or inspected during this auction.
All sales will include a California Title and Bill of Sale unless otherwise stated. A Warranty Disclaimer will also be provided to be signed.
Your bid, winning or not, signifies you agree to these terms and conditions and you agree to make all payments within the allotted time. All purchased vehicles must be removed from the museum within 2 weeks from auctions end or storage fees of $10.00 per day will be applied. (unless written arrangements for additional time have been agreed to by the Vehicle Sales Department)
If you are the winning bidder and back out of your obligation to purchase, or fail to pay within the time allotted, (unless written arrangements with the vehicle sales department have been made) you WILL receive negative feedback and be reported to Ebay. REGARDLESS of your reasons.
The Museum is open 7 days a week, 10 AM to 6 PM (excluding major U.S. holidays) and we welcome you or your representative to inspect the vehicle (by appointment only) prior to purchasing or bidding.
