Vehicle Detail

1974 Plymouth Road Runner- This year was the LAST of the REAL Road Runners (no, that butt-ugly 1975 Fury and the 1976 Volare don't count). Only 9,646 were produced so this was a somewhat rare car when it was built. Just TRY to find one now in even rustbucket condition without paying a fortune for it! This isn't a Canada-built car, either. This particular car was built right here in the USA in St. Louis MO. Has a NEW Cope Street/Strip Racing Transmission, NEW Year One wiring Harness. ENGINE: Ground-shaking 400 Magnum with headers, Carter Competition Series carb. ORIGINAL twin snorkel air cleaner. CRANKS AND RUNS! Body is solid with very few, very small surface rust spots. Floor pans and trunk is solid with no rust. The windshield and back window has been resealed so it's watertight. This is a good, solid car that just needs some basic TLC to become a real head-turning MONSTER. I've invested about $6,000 on this bad boy. Would LOVE to keep it and continue to customize and restore it but simply don't have the time and money. I'll throw in a new front header panel, a brand new dash pad and some interior trim pieces. Located in Anniston, AL. I WILL be posting additional photos in the next couple of days after listing goes active. Questions? Ask and I'll answer quickly to the best of my ability. I've posted additional info and several additional photos including interior shots at: http://grimbird.tripod.com/ On Dec-09-12 at 15:25:05 PST, seller added the following information: Details: This was originally a 318 car. The 400 Magnum was installed by the previous owner before I bought it so I know little about it. It runs strong and does not smoke. The paint was also done by a previous owner which is why there is no stripe kit. It's a little faded and old but as you can see, looks pretty good when cleaned. The rear bumper needs painted or re-chromed as you can see. The front bumper is is really good shape. The worst spots on the car is included in the photos. This includes the large spot on the front header panel which a previous owner slathered with Bondo. It was cracking so I removed it, cleaned the area and painted it to protect against further rust. It's an easy fix, but I am including a new header panel with this car so the option to replace is yours. The transmission was custom built by Cope Transmissions. It's a fantastic unit hand-built by one of the best guys in the business. Cope builds ONLY Mopar transmissions. This was probably the biggest investment I made in this car. The old Torqueflights- great as they are, are rarely in good condition in these old Mopars- so that's something you will NOT have to worry about here. That's all the pertinent details I can think of at this time. If you have any questions, please ask and I'll do my best to answer quickly and accurately. Note that there IS reserve, but it is LOW. And if you get this car for under $5,000, I'd call that a bargain.
