Vehicle Detail

Here is your chance to own a true survivor! 9615 Miles. 1977 Honda Cb 550 super sport in Candy Sword Blue. I've had this bike for about 5 years. I bought it from a old Honda dealer here in the mid-west. It had been sitting in his storage for years prior to that. It was sold new at Ramer motors in Omaha in 77. This is truly is a easy and fun bike to ride and turns heads wherever it goes. I set it up for my wife to ride it, which she did comfortably for a couple years. I did install 12" shocks on the rear and napoleon bar end mirrors. I do have original shocks and mirrors and you would be welcome to them if you win. I did all the maintenance stuff to this bike before i put it on the road. Tune up with valve adjustment, cleaned carbs, rebuilt brakes, new o ring chain, replaced air filter with OEM unit. I re polished side covers as the clear coat was fading a bit. Anything i took off to clean or polish i replaced with new OEM Honda gaskets. Has new continental GO! tires front and rear. I installed a 120 18 out back to fill fender a bit. New tubes, rim strips.. checked wheel true etc. When i got this it had a few bad spots on the gas tank and the rest of the bike was so nice, I found a New Old Stock 1977 Candy Sword Blue gas tank. That was the icing on the cake! I did have to replace the seat cover, just this riding season due to a crack in the top seam. The one that I installed is almost correct, it is stitched on top instead of the original stamped seams. Old one is included with sale. I had a hard time finding the real one out there. I don't think its being reproduced for this bike yet. Bike had a Kerker pipe on it when i got it. I couldn't find a OEM that was as nice as the rest of the bike. I installed a NOS superior 4/1 from the 70s. I know its not OEM, but it sure looks close. Actually a little better looking than stock. This bike is in great running and riding shape. HOWEVER the speedometer needle is not working well. The odometer works and correctly tracks miles. The needle only goes up when your going fast. I would say at 60 its reading 20. Cable and drive are working properly. I think the head is a little gummy and will require a rebuild. The chrome on this thing is not 100%. Front fender has a few pits and a blemish, where someone hammered the front brake and brought the triple tree into it. Pretty common on Honda's of this vintage. Might have a few pits on the rear fender and rims. Look like carbs streaked case and left cover a little bit. You may be able to polish it out. Looks like a few paint touch up spots on gauge cups. Overall really nice ABOVE average 70s Honda. Please email with questions. I expect a $500 Paypal deposit within 24hrs of auction end. Payment to be made in full in & days unless we make other arrangements.
