1966 Beetle based Fiberglass Dune Buggy This body style is called a Trantula. It has never been wrecked, cracked or repaired. Very nice shape body. The paint is House of Color Sunset Yellow. The paint does have 3 chips/scratches from normal use. The White strip is pearl and the body has clear over all of it. The body has been sanded and polished for a mirror finish. New Ball Joints, Tie Rod Ends, 4 Wheel Cylinders, New Brake Pads, New Rear brake Drums, New Wheel Bearings Front and Rear, Tires have about 1000 miles on them. New Master Cylinder. New Pan Halves. The Rims are 15 X 8.5 rear with 295 50 15 Cooper Cobra tires and the fronts are 15 X 5 with 185 65 15 General tires. The Chrome Vintiques rims are in excellant shape with no rust, run true, no curb rash. Engine has about 1200 miles on it with new cylinders, new heads, new carburetor, new distributer, new plug wires, new header with quite pack muffler. New oil pump with external oil filter. New clutch and pressure plate. New starter bushing and starter. New Dog House Oil Cooler. Engine runs great. Transmission shifts perfectly and does not wine or pop out of any gear. Reverse works perfect and does not pop out of gear. Fuel tank altered to fit buggy and internally coated with Red Koyte. Custom Roll cage and Custom Rear Bumper. Both built out of 0.120 wall 1 5/8 DOM tubing and securely anchored to the pan. 3 inch wide lap belts. Custom Hurst style shifter. New Shift Rod Bushing. Dash is simple with just the '66 Beetle Speedo head and mechanical fuel gauge. Seats are suspension seats. Windshield is like new, no cracks or chips and has a rear view mirror on it. Also has a Bikini Top called a "Sombereo" that is high quality and takes about 1 minute to put on/off. Good battery. This buggy is very dependable, runs great, stops quickly, steers like it is on a rail and gets compliments everywhere we have taken it. I will help what ever transporter you use load for shippment, but shipping is up to purchaser. I run Brad Penn 10W 30 Oil in my VW's. Valve Adjustment was done at oil change. 1600 cc engine. It does not jump/buck as you let the clutch out. Electric Choke on carb. Internally regulated Alternator. K&N style Air Cleaner. 040 Brazil VW heads. License Plate frame has built in light. Reverse lights work from toggle switch on dash. Alternator and oil pressure warning lights work.
