1985 BMW 745i *****I have lowered the price for a quick sale and also made some changes to the details so please re-read it all if you have been watching this. Any potential buyers are welcome to come check out the car***** I have for sale a 1985 BMW 745i. I have owned it for about 3 years and I purchased it from the original owner. I was originally using it as a daily driver which is why I put so many parts on it. The only reason I am selling is because I have too many cars, plus I already have another 745i that I plan to keep forever. I am listing here on ebay at a price lower than my original asking price because I would like to get it sold now as I will be very busy in December and January plus it's tax season. I have been into these cars for about a decade so I know this car really well. It was originally imported from Germany to Indiana in 1986 and then has been a California car since around 1988 in a dry desert area so that means no rust at all. The carfax and autocheck report are clear and show car having registration in Indiana until at least 2004, but original owner kept car registered there but kept in in California and I have the old receipts for work back then which show year and mileage from a local BMW shop here in Southern California. It has almost 178K miles and has a clear and current California title and registration until July 2013. I had a smog done in September but the 90 day period just ran out yesterday so depending upon your state any smog check will be responsibility of buyer. This is the imported euro executive edition which means it has certain special options like water buffalo leather interior and reclining rear seats, all power options and 4 Speed auto transmission, M106 turbo engine, etc. I'm assuming that if you're looking at this auction then you know what the car is so I won't go into all the technical details about the BMW history of this grey market car. Car is solid and reliable with the engine, fuel system, transmission, cooling system and suspension all having been gone over. I have listed most details I can think of below, both pro and con and I have a folder of receipts for the work and parts that I have listed. Alot of information and pictures and videos is available for these cars so you can search online for that. Car as shown in pictures with two different sets of wheels. For this auction the car will come with the 15x7" OZ/MSW gold wheels with good falken ziex tires. If car is purchased with buy it now I will also throw in the second set of 17x8.5" AC Schnitzer chrome wheels. I will work with out of state buyers if you need to have it shipped but it is up to buyer to make the arrangements. Car will also come with box of spare parts and useful stuff, also owner's manual. I feel my $4000 starting bid is way low but this is such a rare and special niche car I realize there are limited people seriously looking to buy one as most people are not aware of the horsepower potential of these turbo cars. If it does not sell with this auction I will most likely just revert back to a classified ad at my original asking price. A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours via paypal, then the remainder due with 7 days either cash or bank cashier's check. The car is garaged and I have no problem keeping it there until buyer picks it up as long as I have payment in full within 7 days. ---Exterior -Fresh paint OE color. All mouldings and trim removed for paint, all new OE clips and grommets used for reinstall. New roundels. Door handle gaskets replaced and lower window strips replaced. Paint job is a mid-range job and it not perfect but still good with a few small imperfections. Window weatherstrip surround cracking and could be replaced for perfectly clean exterior. All other rubber and chrome good. -New OE 745i trunk emblem included but not installed. -No federalized sidemarkers -Euro headlights with Sylvania Silverstar Ultra bulbs. LED driving lights in corner lights. -Straight body, no rust. Car had dent in right rear door which was pulled and fixed when painted. I have before and after pics inside and outside. Matching VINs on panels. -Car has euro bronzit windows and sunroof. Sunroof does not move at the moment. It worked previously and motor still works but not moving. All power windows work great but just started having issue with them not working when key is on so I'm working on that now. -All door locks, gas door and trunk lock central locking work. ---Interior -Water Buffalo Interior gray/black. Fading from sun, leather good with some wear on driver seat and small hole in butt area, cracked dash but covered with dash mat, rear headrests have loose stitching, new floor mats. Interior is not really worn, just old. -Wood is still good some very slight cracking but not worn. -Old School Nardi steering wheel and hub, slightly loose stitching but good leather and feels great. -New Ignition switch -Gauge cluster odometer gears replaced, all gauge functions work -Rear sunshade does not retract but I have a replacement one not installed but included -All power options work including reclining rear seats work fine except passenger front seat does not move front to back but motor works (I think it's just jammed), still has becker radio in rear. -Good Sony/JVC stereo with new speakers, antenna works -HVAC has issues. When I first got it it worked fine, now it is intermittent and needs work. At least needs microswitch replaced at most also needs vacuum pods rebuilt or replaced. -Original spare metric wheel in trunk, complete tool kit and jack ---Engine -All belts, plugs, fluids, filters, Interstate battery, etc. replaced, synthetic oil in Engine, good compression, never boosted past stock. Turbo replaced by PO at 140K -Alternator bushings replaced -Coolant hoses, water pump, thermostat etc. replaced -Most vacuum lines replaced -Most power steering lines replaced -Fuel system and lines cleaned out, new Walbro 255 external pump, new in tank pump, new fuel level sensor, fuel filter, hoses, etc. -Tranny 4hp22zf serviced non synthetic fluid, clean oil no chunks. Tranny sometimes slips going into third if car is cold, once warm no issues at all tranny shifts smooth always, it has done that since I bought it, never any check lights. Differential fluid changed. -New custom full 3" Magnaflow exhaust and catalytic converter from downpipe back, could use better exhaust tips but sounds excellent. -Engine and tranny do not consume or leak fluids at all but valve cover gasket and oil cooler lines are starting to weep slightly. ---Suspension -New pitman arms, idler arm, tie rods and center, etc. -New Bavarian Autosport springs and Bilstein shocks -Brakes are good about 50% or more life left -For my asking price car will come with 15x7" OZ/MSW wheels and good falken tires. I also have the 17x8.5" AC Schnitzer if buyer prefers.
