Vehicle Detail
Land Rover is a legendary vehicle on and off road. The 1999 Land Rover Discovery Series I is one of the most preferred years to own because of it's excellent off-road capabilities, and this Discovery has been upgraded to make it even better. We've only taken this truck off road once (and that was pretty light) before I had some health issues that prevented more. I bought it from a dealership in Chicago. It looked like it led a pavement-only life to that point so I think it was just a grocery getter down there. All's well healthwise now, but I need to reduce my vehicle inventory ASAP! The rock sliders shown in pictures are not included. Upgrades to this vehicle include: Stainless-steel braided oil-cooler lines (this is an important upgrade on these vehicles! They prevent engine fires caused by lines originally installed by Land Rover. The old lines crack with age and heat. That hazard is no longer a problem with these lines.) Pioneer CD Player with Sirius Satellite tuner and antenna all professionally installed All-new professionally installed speakers, amplifier, and subwoofer 3" overall lift consisting of: + Rovertym 2" lift springs with Old Man Emu Shocks + BF Goodrich AT tires (including spare) which adds another 1" of lift (TONS of tread left as you can see)8mm spark plug wires**The rock sliders shown in pictures are not included in the auction. I will replace them with the original rocker sills.**) Included items: Stock removable crossbars for roof rackOwners manualRecent Maintenance performed: New hoses & belts (ALL of them!)New fuel pumpNew spark plugsNew belt tensioner pulleyDriveshaft universal joints replaced and balancedFront-axle bearings repackedWheel alignmentNew 190° thermostatNew PCV kit for the GEMS engineNew muffler and resonator (smaller muffler near tailpipe)New cabin pollen filterBrake fluid flushInduction cleaning using SeaFoamRegular oil changes CLEAN AND CLEAR TITLE! READY TO TRANSFER TO YOUR NAME! This Rover is in great shape. The upgrades cost well over $3000 and that doesn't include any of the maintenance items listed. There are no maintenance or warning lights illuminated on the dash, the transfer case shifts into low and lock like a dream, both sunroofs work perfectly, and all power windows work. A/C blows cold. It has been rustproofed and undercoated as you can see in the undercar photos, but it does have very minimal surface rust and is in the normal places for these vehicles. The only things that don't work right now are the passenger-seat heater, cruise, fog lights and the map pockets in the doors need to be screwed back in. Just haven't had time to get at those things. I trust this truck and use it as a daily driver, so the mileage has gone up a bit since I took the photo of the odometer. Also, the front-door and rear-door power locks work great, but sometimes the rear passenger-door lock actuators don't go all the way up. Like just about any Rover, it does have a few minor oil leaks. However, like just about any Rover owner will tell you, "We don't start to worry until they STOP leaking!" Like I said, this Rover is in GREAT shape. It would an excellent trail truck, and I have driven it several times on 2000-mile round trips to Mississippi and back, and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Contact me by with any questions!
