Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1951 Ford F1 truck. I traded a riding mower for this truck about 15 years ago. I know very little of it's history. I had intended to restore it but time and money prevented. It has been sitting in a shed until I towed it outside for pictures. I will tell you what I know. It was converted to 12 volt at some point. The last I check the motor was free. I do not have a key for the switch so I manually turned it over by the crank pulley. The body does have rust which I attempted to show in the pictures. The bed floor has had metal welded in place. Rather than try to explain more, please study the pictures. I do not know if the miles shown on the odometer are original or not. This truck is also for sale locally, so the auction may be ended at any point. I am not even beginning to claim this truck is "pristine". It does have rust holes in typical areas. It does have various dents and bends in the metal. It has been sitting for probably at least 20 years or more. I have had it for 15 (+/-) years. How long exactly it sat in my buddies garage before that; I do not know. The owner before me at one point had planned on fixing the body up and painting it. That is why it shows a lot of primer. All this being said; for someone that is into or knows restoration, there is a lot of work to be done to restore this truck. However, there is also a lot to work with here. Not all panels are dinged or bent. The roof is straight. The hood is in hood shape as far as I can tell. The doors appear to be in good condition. However, keep in mind that the previous owner did some body work and primed it. What is underneath the primer I am not responsible for.
