Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1967 Honda CL77 Scrambler as well as a matching 1967 CL77 Scrambler parts bike. I acquired both these CL’s sometime ago with the intent of restoring the nicer of the two because it is in mechanically good condition when parked, has a title and has a nice parts bike that matches it. With so many vintage motorcycles in my collection, I now realize that I’m never going to have time to do all the restorations I had originally planned to do so it’s time to let you restore this very deserving candidate. The nicer of the two CL’s does come with a clear title. The frame number appearing on this CL is CL77-1068378 and the engine number appearing on this CL is CL77E-1068269 making this a numbers matching correct original example. The odometer currently reads 17,574 miles. The parts bike does not come with a title but does have many usable parts and when combined with the nicer CL77 has a lot of potential to create one very nice CL77 out of these and still have many parts to sell separately or to keep as spares. The remainder of the description will focus on the nicer of the CL’s. Mechanically, this CL77 was running and driving when parked about 5 years ago. It has been parked since then but was a strong running and mechanically sound bike at the time of being parked but currently does not run. As with all old motorcycles, this CL will require some general mechanical maintenance such as cleaning the carburetors and any other maintenance as recommended by Honda and some parts swapped from the parts bike. Please keep in mind this is a project and does not run as is and will need some work. Cosmetically, this CL is overall mostly complete and in restorable condition. The original speedometer, headlight bucket and handle bars are present and the bars are straight. The speedometer is in very nice original condition as well. The fenders are restorable as is the rear grab bar. The seat has a solid pan but will need recovering. What is very nice about getting both bikes is the option to swap out parts from the parts bike. Most of the components that are missing on the nicer CL can be found in nice condition on the parts bike. This makes it much easier to restore as it’s almost like you have a parts room in the other CL. Overall, this auction of 2 1967 CL77’s is a great opportunity for someone looking for a solid starting point for a CL77 restoration. You get 2 bikes one of which has a clear title and you also get a matching parts bike all at one location. Regarding Payment and Shipping, I will accept a wire transfer or a certified check for the CL77’s. Payment must be received within 10 days of the close of the auction. I will and can assist with shipping this bike anywhere in the USA or any other country in the World. I have sent many bikes to Australia, Japan and Europe and have many different channels to get bikes exported for a reasonable cost. I can also work directly with your shipper if you are outside the U.S.A to get this motorcycle to you. I can help with the paperwork and any customs forms free of charge as well. We can work together and get this bike to you if you are outside the USA-it is no problem at all. I can also deliver this bike to Forward Air free of charge or may be able to deliver within 500 miles of Minneapolis, MN. The bike is sold as is.
