Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1962 Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk. It is being offered with NO RESERVE! It is equipped with a 259 V8 (not the original engine) and a four-speed transmission. The car has had some amateur restoration work. Mileage shown is 53,xxx, which may not be actual. Mechanical: This Hawk is equipped with a 259 V8 (not the original engine), 2 bbl carb, and a four speed transmission (factory). The car runs, drives, and stops. Smokes and runs rough when cold, but smooths out some as it warms up Carries good oil pressure (guage goes over 50 when revved, but guage is also sticky). Has exhaust leak at passenger side exhaust manifold/pipe junction. Brakes work but are grabby. Has oil bath air cleaner - was removed for photos. Cosmetic: Best described as a 20 footer. Paint is fair-to-good depending on where you look. Has some crazing in places - appears to filler in numerous panels. Some rust poking through on driver's side fender. Brightwork is in fair/decent shape - grille shell has some puckers near mounting screw bosses, bumpers have some dings and rust. Fender top trim and wheel arch mouldings in good shape with few dings. Windshield has wiper mark on passenger side. Trunk overlay held on with sheetmetal screws and has some trauma (see pictures). Trunk lid has some rust in lower lip (see pictures). Fender spears are present but crazed. Structural: Frame and hog troughs appear solid. Trunk corners appear intact - some minor perforations were noted in passenger side trunk corner. Interior: Seat covers are newer but not factory. Carpet is in decent shape. Instrument panel is fair, and crash pad has some cracks. There was evidence of mouse activity in rear seat area - droppings and nests in rear seat back and cushion were cleaned out during pre-sale inspection. There is a hole in the headliner on the passenger side above the door opening (see pictures). Missing shifter bezel and boot. Other: Air conditioning unit (compressor, evaporator, condensor) included with sale. Parts book and shop manual also included, along with extra window regulator. Terms: Vehicle is sold as is, where is, with no warranty of any kind. Full payment due 72 hours after close of sale. Vehicle must be picked up with ten (10) days of close of auction. Clear title in hand and will be accompanied with a bill of sale. All arrangments for pickup/shipping are responsibility of buyer. Cash, certified funds, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express accepted. We do not use PayPal. Questions: Email or call with questions or for additional pictures.
