This 1985 Mercedes 500 SEC with an original AMG body kit has been a daily driver vehicle. It passes smog in California.
Exterior
The paint on this Mercedes is in decent shape and has a good shine to it. The Mercedes looks to have been repainted at some point in its life but is starting to crack in some spots. It has some tree sap marks on it but may be able to be cleaned up and polished. There are 2 small dents in the vehicle, one behind the front left tire on the fender and another just behind the drivers door. Both look like they may be able to be popped out. The AMG body kit is complete and is not cracked. The paint on the front spoiler is starting to crack and show its age. The Mercedes sits on a set of 17x8 ETOILE 455 rims wrapped in Nexen N3000 245/45ZR17 tires with about 50% tread left.
Interior
The interior of the Mercedes shows its age and use. The front drivers seat is splitting at the seams and the leather is starting to crack. The passenger seat has some cracks in it. The seats are still very comfortable and supportive. The carpets have some staining. With a good interior detail and carpets shampooed the interior would look pretty good. The center wood console has some cracks in it and the center trim leading up to the dashboard is cracked.
Mechanical
This Mercedes runs and drives good. The engine has a slight knock to it but has been diagnosed and a cam lobe oiler tube which is made of plastic has cracked and the lobe is not getting correct oiling so it makes some noise. The suspension has had some recent updates to it and is tight. The sunroof will not operate with the switch but I am unsure why. There is however a hand crank located in the truck that can be used to open and close the sunroof. For some unknown reason the AC blower motor will not work with the vehicle running but works if the vehicle is off. So I am unsure if the actual AC works although all the parts are complete. The stereo works but the back speakers are blown but do work. There are 2 amplifiers installed in the trunk one is a PioneerGM-X314 4 channel and the other is a Rockford Fosgate 600 amp.
