Up for auction is my 78 Ford Pinto with a factory sunroof, automatic transmission and sport appearance package. This guy came from the factory with the red stripe color keyed wheels and racing mirrors.I have had this for a couple of years now and have partially restored it. It is not a fast car but it is still a real blast to drive. Be careful when you stop anywhere driving though because people will gravitate to it and tell you all about how they, or somebody they knew had one. The number one coment you will hear is " I havent seen one of those in a while". This one came from Texas and is 99.9% rust free. There are no holes or issues but there is some surface rust here and there, like under the doors and hatch and the undercarraige, but this is completely normal for any car after a few years. The odometer shows just 34,797 miles but I am nearly sure it is actually 134,797. The car looks really good but is not perfect as it has been well drivin and has some flaws in the paint and brightwork but for my ultra low reserve it is a absolute steal in this condition. The interior is a vibrant red and looks awsome. The front seats and door panels have been redone and look a little different than original but nobody would notice. The back seat has not been recovered and does show some wear. The headliner is presentable but has a small hole in it and a seem is starting to seperate. The motor has been tuned up and runs well but I'm sure with some tinkering it could run a little better as it is a little cold blooded. all the important stuff works (signals, lamps and instruments)and it has new tires on it (which are hard to find). The rear defrost is inoperable at this time and the fresh air vent hoses are not hooked up because it had a aftermarket A/C system which was removed. The seat belt warning doesn't work because the wires were cut at some point. The only thing mechanicaly that sould be looked at is a slight drip from the differential but it is very minor. Although the tires are new they are a little smaller than original and throw the speedometer off slightly. If I missed anything I am sorry, but what it comes down to is that sombody is going to get a super cool car at a awsome price that they can drive and enjoy immediatly.
