Theseare those rare nostalgic throwbacks to the 40's "woodie" Chrysler and Ford convertibles. However, these are a modern driving car, easy to handle, park and maintain, and they stillcan be bought at a reasonable sum. They get great gas mileage. In 1983 the landmark year for these neo-classic Town and Country Convertibles, only 1590 were made for worldwide distribution. They were offered in the three colors, PearleWhite, Dark Sable Brown and Black. The white being the most popular and the black therarest. The interiors were all Mark Cross Leather , brown and saddle in color. This one is arich Sable Brown exterior. These high-end cars were only offered for three years with only 3725 made in allthe three years. They were priced higher than the regular convertible so fewer people bought them. This car lived down south it's entire life, garaged and well maintained. I boughtit on November 18, 2001 and hauled it to Kansas City to add to my collection. Here it went intogaraged dry storage for the last eleven years being driven from time to time. Continental Kits were put on a few of these cars to mimic the ones in the 40's.and 50's. In my opinion it was just what this car needed to add the period touch and make the rearquarter of the car longer. I added this Continental tire kit to the bumper , painted it ametallic light brown and added the stripe on the hood to match. This was an added $ 1500.00 cost but makes the car a "stand out" and breaks up the brown. The kit does not hold the spare tire ( it's inthe trunk ) it just for show. It can easily be removed. The car has a relative new heavy duty top and I replaced the driver's side transaxle andseal. When these cars set, the seals shrink and they drip power steering fluid.. This one has just been replaced. Theradio comes on but does not work. I believe the aerial may have a break in the wire. The AC blows but after11 years storage probably needs a charge next summer. The talking computer works as does the powerwindows, top, brakes and steering. The horn is silent. The odometer states 106750 on miles. I have barely driven the car these ten years andearlier records in 1997 in Texas say 101498. This indicates the odometer unit is broken or was unhookedwhen the transmission was serviced.after 1997. in Texas. The odometer was not working a year or so before I bought the car. In November of 2001 .. The car was stored in Texas before I bought it so on the outside I believe the car may have 109000. I have a low reserve on this car because I want to sell ..It is an excellent investment andwill only go up in value. If you are looking to get into the collector's market, or go to Cruise Nights or just havea unique rare car in the garage, look at this one. This car is going cheaply, far less that my investment. It drive down the road well, the trannyshifts and with a little TLC the radio and horn can be repaired. I am selling this woodie far cheaper than othersellers are asking, and this is not a "project car". It is up and running. All sales final. A $ 500.00 deposit with PAY PAL within 24 hours of purchase and the balancewithin seven days. The car is available for inspection and must be picked up in Kansas City 64145. It isoffered here and sold "as-is". No warranty or guarantee is given or implied. The seller makes no representationsas to the condition of the car other than what is apparent and no guarantee the car will drive across country. Istrongly recommend all classic cars be hauled if the destination is great. Until you know a classic car the fuel pump, water pump, timing chain, gasket or anything could happen on a long trip. In the long run it is cheaper to have them hauled. Call Wade Williams for further information or inspection at 816-943-0855 . If you want one of these slick cars, this is the one. I have sold four of these on Ebay because they arewell worth the money and are nice vehicles. They are a bargain.
