This is what Pontiac SHOULD have built back in 1979. Up for sale is a 1979 Pontiac Trans am equipped with a professionally built 455 ci engine with 9.7:1 compression with 6x performance heads. Exhaust gases removed by long tube headers connected to true dual exhaust. Car retains it's stock automatic transmission and 2.76 Posi traction rear end. This car puts out about 400 horsepower and will run great with today's fuel.I picked this up in Indiana last summer and drove it home to my home in Mass without issue,where it easily passed one of the toughest state inspection programs in the country. I have never had a problem with this car. I have decided to try to sell it as my family and I just didn't have the time I expected to enjoy it, and it is a shame to just let it sit. Starts strong, runs clean and is powerful and responsive. Approx 2500 miles on it since built and installed Original Transmission and rear end provide good, positive shifts with no noises or issues. Beautiful black paint covers straight body work,Decals and paint in great condition. New GM weather seals for windows and T Tops. Speedo,Tach,power windows,8 track/radio and accessory gauges all work new tires and updated rims both in like new condition. original glass clean and unmarked. Interior is beautiful,very slight fading on tops of rear seats, but aside from that it looks amazing. no rips/tears in seats. Console dash and steering wheel look great as well. $250.00 custom car cover included with sale to help protect your investment. Brand New Heater Core and fan motor installed summer 2012. As pictures will show, this is a clean care with frame and body panels in great shape. Secondary concerns: A/C is not on car, and original parts were not retained. I do have a GM Compressor and hoses that I will include with the car. Cruise control vacuum lines are not hooked up. DOES have cruise box, I just never had an interest in using it, so I never had it fixed. clock on tachometer does not work, probably frozen. sun visors are original, but are starting to show their age. Personally I don't think this car needs anything except a new home. I feel I have set the price fairly due to time of year, market values and today's economy. I do not have plans to relist this item in the chance it does not sell.(listed this once before, but due to time of year, and the fact that the price may have been a little high I figured I would give it one more shot.)
