Vehicle Detail
You are viewing a real 1969 Chevrolet Nova Super Sport. This car was originally equipped with a 396 / 375 horsepower L78 engine which has been gone for 30 years. The car retains it's original M21 4 speed transmission, 3:55 12 bolt positraction rear and original big block manual transmission radiator. The trans has a broken ear on the case but the broken piece is included. This car was bought new from a now closed Chevy dealership in Pisgah, Iowa. It spent most of the 70's in Grand Island, Nebraska. The last tag on the bicentennial Nebraska license plate is 1979. I have talked to a few owners from the early to mid 80's and they remember the car almost exactly as it sits today without the engine. The guy I got it from bought it in 1995 out of Nebraska and trailered it to a body shop near his home in Indiana. The car had a little rust above each rear wheel and he wanted it removed. Full quarter panels were not available at that time so half quarter skins were installed. Those areas were put in gray primer as was the area above the windshield because he also had a new windshield installed. The rest of the car is 100% original paint! The car was then moved with the owner to Arizona where it sat in his garage for the next 15 years. There is no rust in this car other than a little in the lower front fenders. The floors and trunk are near mint condition. All areas around the glass is perfect. Both front fenders will need some body work. The right more than the left. The doors are perfect. The rear of the car is perfect. The hood is perfectly straight but has hood pin holes. As stated the windshield is as new. The side glass is very nice. The back glass is missing. The car has the normal SS items like disc brakes. It also has a black deluxe bucket seat interior which is completely original except for the wrong headrests on the seats. The dash and gauge areas are mint. The front seats have splits in the seams. Back seat is very nice. Door panels are excellent. There is a shifter in the trunk but I don't think it's original to the car. The car had a center console but it is missing. Nothing is hacked up or altered. I looked in the back seat for a build sheet and could not find one. The car has the single two-piece fuel line that only 375 horse cars got. Also the 3:55 gear ratio was the standard ratio for the L78. There are no hidden surprises with the body of this car. The gray primer and the original paint everywhere else tell the complete story. It's an excellent candidate for an easy winter project. Special cars this solid don't come up very often. I won't reveal the reserve so don't ask. I will listen to, and consider, reasonable offers. The reserve is probably a little on the high side. However, if it doesn't meet the reserve I have every intention of negotiating with the high bidder at the end of the auction. This isn't a fishing expedition. I want the car to sell. I have a clear Nebraska title for the car. I will be happy to cooperate with any shipping details you arrange. I retain the right to cancel the auction at anytime. Feel free to call me at 760-802-9376 if you have any questions. A non-refundable $250 deposit must be received with in 48 hours of the close of the auction. On Nov-16-12 at 13:35:35 PST, seller added the following information: I have added some pictures to answer some of the questions. There is no driveshaft. The original big block crossmember for the trans is in the trunk. The original big block engine frame brackets are in the trunk. The shifter is a Hurst shifter with the original style bend. The floor has not been altered in any way for the shifter. All of the original seat belts are there. The original keys are there and all of the original locks ( ignition, doors, trunk ) still function. The original master cylinder, booster, brake calipers, and two-piece rotors are there. All of the window trim is in the trunk.A picture of the trim tag has been posted. On Nov-17-12 at 21:00:40 PST, seller added the following information: The car will now sell to the highest bidder. On Nov-24-12 at 13:49:24 PST, seller added the following information: When I had plans of restoring this car I collected a few parts that will be made available for a very reasonable price to the new owner. They include 4 factory SS wheels for an extra $100 for the set. Also a factory tach dash and a console with gauges for $400.
