If the Reserve price is NOT met, High Bidder at Auction End will have first Rights of Purchase Please bid only what you car afford to pay. 1966 Ford Mustang California Coupe, 289 V-8 Original Matching #'s engine and trans, Adult Female owned by Ms. L. O'Farell of Phoenix Arizona. It has been rarely driven and always garaged since she bought it NEW on December 3rd 1965 from the Ford Dealership in Pheonix Az. when she traded in her 1959 Chevy to get it!! Original window sticker from 1966, original sales contract with title receipt from 1966, and other receipts all go with the car. This is one of the most original, solid cars I have seen. Due to living in Arizona and being garaged its entire life, it does NOT have any rust on its original panels.. Never wrecked.. YES, original floors, original frame rails, doors, fenders, quarters, hood, glass etc... original as no wrench has been turned on the body.. the under side is just as solid as a new car and has never seen work as most Mustangs of this age have had floor pans replaced. This car has so many original parts: original 2V Carb, original Air breather and valve covers, original single exhaust that is still in good shape, original wheels and hubcaps, etc.. almost everything is original!! In 2009, the original owner was too old to continue to drive and the Arizona DMV would Not renew her license.. So she gave it to her nephew, (who I am listing this car for).. It was transported to Savannah GA to him in 2009, and has been stored in his garage ever since.. while in his possession, it has received some upgrades.. The engine had begun to show signs of smoke a few hundred miles ago. Therefore, on 9-30-2010 a Professional Auto Service Center pulled the original 289 V-8 and sent to Jasper Engines for a complete overhaul back to Ford spec. The original engine was re-installed with a warranty and runs like NEW again. This service ran the owner $4497.59. for parts and labor.. In August of 2009, the car was sent to a Professional Auto Paint Restoration Center and was painted Base/Clear Prowler Orange Metallic. (Original Color Sahar Beige) This paint service was $4200. Also in June of 2011, the interior was freshened up with new upholstery, new carpet and seat covers. The interior is nice as new, however, the original dash has a small crack but you have to look for it. I have personally driven this car and it is very solid and tight. It drives and performs as you would expect a Brand NEW 1966 Mustang to perform. There is no play in the steering. There is no hesitation in the driveline. The Transmission shifts smooth as it should. I have cruised in this car at 75mph, and there is no shaking, no vibrations, no weird noises etc.. The brakes are manual drums, however, the pedal is firm and the brakes work great as they should with no pulling left or right. This car is ready to drive daily and drive on long trips with No issues. I tested the A/C, and it blows cool and appears to be in good operating condition. The running temp is great with no overheating issues and the oil pressure remains high even after the car meets running temps. It still wears its original door tag which I have decoded below. As you can see, It was built in San Jose California, then sent to Phoenix AZ where it was sold NEW. It remained in Arizona until a few years ago when it moved to Georgia. It has been garaged its entire life. You will see that there is no data on Axle. The data tag was blank from the Ford San Jose plant as there was an oversight by the person on the assemly line, so we are not sure of the rear ratio. However, it is the original 8" rear and I suspect is has a 3.20 ratio which would be 3 on the warranty tag.. List of new items with receipts: Engine rebuild, new paint, interior upholstery, new bumpers,new bulbs, new outside mirror, brakes, tires, shocks, fuel tank, sending unit, original radiator (re-cored), new belts, hoses, battery. There has been about $10,000 spent on this car over the past 2 years. This car has never been abused or left out in the weather. With 86,000 original miles, it is a Great Find!
