Vehicle Detail

This 1965 Chevelle is rock solid. It has been the majority of its life in South Dakota and Southern California. I purchased this chevelle this summer and was going to restore at my shop but someone purchased my shop and business before I could start this project. I specialized in chevelle wagons and this one is the most solid and unmolested chevelle wagon I have ever owned, and I have owned and restored over 40 of the chevelle wagons over the past 23 years of business. While looking at the chevelle I agree it is the most ugliest car to look at in its current condition but why pay for used paint and terrible body work and a car which has been altered and molested many times over. This car can be restored using all current body panels. The bottom of the door and quarter panels are rock solid with no rust through areas. The seams are excellent. The only bad spot is the left front fender which has some body filler from a crease from the 80 year old original owner. The fender has no rust but has a poor filler job on the crease. The fender can easily be pulled and repaired without purchasing a new fender. Nothing like original fit body panels. The tail gate is the best part of the entire car. The tailgate is rust free and the seams are excellent. The electric power tailgate even works. These tailgates in this condition are worth over 1000.00 in this condition, which does not include the electric motor. The floor pan and rear wheel pan are excellent. The rear quarters are super solid with no rust through. This is the perfect drive until you restore vehicle. The vehicle has approx. 98k original miles. The 327 engine was rebuilt about 15k miles ago and was rebuilt in 1990 and runs great with no smoke, lifter noise or piston slap. When the motor was rebuilt, the turbo 350 three speed transmission was installed. The trans shifts perfectly but needs a new O-ring on the transmission dipstick as it leaks a bit when the vehicle sits for a extended length of time. Amazingly the car drives excellent down the road. The car does not wander, or have excessive bump-steer, and drives straight. The brakes were all just redone with new shoes and wheel cylinders. The vehicle stops great and stops straight and does not pull left or right. The lights and gauges work like they are suppose to. When I purchased the car this summer, I drove it from Milwaukee Wisconsin to Minneapolis Minnesota to pick up some racing slicks. This is an 8 hour drive. I went 70 mph all the way up to Minn. The temperature outside was over 100 degrees. On the way back loaded with slicks I was still able to go 70 mph with no overheating or trouble of any kind. The engine used no oil whatsoever. The rear bumper has one dent and should be replaced. The interior needs to be replaced when restored but is good driver quality. Also has the optional roof rack. A new muffler was just installed. It does need a new exhaust manifold gasket on the right side and a complete tuneup as the vehicle has been not driven very much in the past few years as told to me by the previous owner. I paid 5750.00 this past summer and I felt it was worth every penny. The majority of these wagons are either fully restored and command a big dollar, or they are completely rusted out beyond repair, or they have been molested and have amateur restorations many times over. One last thing about the production number of the vehicle. As you can see by the VIN number this is the 637th vehicle produced, as the vin production number starts with 100,000. I encourage prospective bidders to come and inspect the vehicle prior to bidding. You can call me at 813-545-1011 for more information and ask for Joe. No trades please as I am moving out of the United States as it is not fesible to take any vehicles with me. Reserve is 4000.00 winning bidder is responsible for shipping but will help with anything I can do. Vehicle must be picked up by the end of November as that is my closing date on the property.
