Vehicle Detail
Hi Ive got a 72 Custom Chevy pickup (same body style from 1968-1972) Short Bed with a newer style Chevy LS1 5.3 Liter Vortec V8 (L59) in it with a 4L80E transmission that starts right up everytime, the first time. It has a custom bed that resembles a ford bed of that era but is a chevy and the ONLY one Ive ever seen in this country. The Speedo cluster is in Kilometers not miles but you can change that easy. The interior is all redone but it was a while ago so could stand to be touched up here and there. NOT ASKING A CRAZY HIGH RESERVE, I understand that times are hard but Im not just gonna give it away either. If I cant get what I think its roughly worth now then I will finish it (paint it, program computer, put rims on it) and then sell it like that at Barret Jackson or some place like that where it would be appreciated. FEEL FREE to make me an offer or trade idea (prefer trade plus cash but we can talk). Im just not into trucks anymore and looking to get back into musclecars (50's,60's & some 70's chevy will be considered). HERES A VIDEO OF IT RUNNING/STARTING: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFelMizAuDw This is an "almost" completely ready truck to drive around for a daily driver or still very close to being done for a show truck as all the hard work and designing is done (putting in the late model engine & trans). I have driven it a few times as is it is but it does need a few things to be a good daily driver, mainly: a new tune for the computer, the brakes bled and a new battery. All the details are below. What it needs to be a daily driver right now:the computer needs reprogramming (Nelson performance in Texas quoted me 300 and said including the time it takes to mail it there and back, 10 days altogether)need to bleed the brakesneed to run 2 power wires from the battery to the stock fusebox so the lights will work (power is only run to the new motor & computer right now) Body: -was restored some years back and painted burnt orange but the clear is peeling on the hood and roof so will need paint, also they put some bondo on it in the cab area and the bed but it doesnt look to be bad at all. I would however replace the door sill area in the bottom "all" these trucks have problems there and this one is no exception. -Rust wise though it appears to be good all around except for the lower door sill area as I mentioned. I think they fiberglassed over it but if it were me Id just get new sills since they are cheap and its an easy repair. -No dents any where that I saw, although the tailgate does have normal use small dents. Engine/Trans: -The engine/Wiring harness/computer are all from a 2005 Chevy Tahoe and is a 5.3 Liter Vortec L59 that had 45000 miles on it. It had a 4L60 transmission but those are very weak trannys so we replaced it with a 4L80 since they are heavier but basically bullet-proof. -TRUCK RUNS/DRIVES GREAT now, starts right up the 1st time and sounds great, all the wiring is done (including adding the extra wiring for the new transmission) but the computer still needs to be reprogramed to function right (doesnt shift out of 1st gear because the computer doesnt recognize the tranny speed sensor since the new tranny has 2, and the old tranny only had 1) this can be easily fixed by mailing the computer to "Nelson Performance" in Texas, for $300 they will reprogram it to work with the new tranny and will retune the engine so its even faster (even though it can do a burnout now VERY easily lol). The whole process of mailiing the computer to them takes only about 10 days total and it only takes about 5 minutes to Install/Remove it (only 2 wire plugs and thats it). -Dual exhuast with flowmasters, O2 sensors installed and no cats.Sounds great. The engine/trans/wiring/radiator combo alone is worth about $3000 before you have to pay the other $3000 to have it installed, I know, I paid both lol. Also the wiring harness is still stock so it has all the factory wires there for the AC to be hooked up but we took off the compressor so its not hooked up now and I dont have the compressor. The EGR was also removed and blocked off. Also the 1972 fuse block hasnt been wired up yet so the lights dont work but is an easy fix as all you have to do is run a power/ground wire to it and it should work fine as all the lights worked before the conversion. -We also used the Tahoe steering column and power steering pump so it turns great. -Has Factory front disk brakes/rear drum and they work fine but the pedal soft because we never got around to bleeding it.But it does stop fine now. Wheels/Tires: -Wheels are custom and are in perfect shape and the tires have a tone of tread on them (almost new) but they have been setting for awhile so cracks are starting to form on the sides. Interior: -Interior has the tahoe front seat/center console (looks great,no rips or tears at all), the door panels, roof and dash were covered in grey velour and then orange accent pieces were added with flames in them, they ae ok but starting to show age and I was going to update them but they are fine for now. all glass is there and good although i think the windshield is chipped. Bed: -The bed is in great shape as I said but does show some signs of having bondo on it in a few places but is straight and VERY unique. The tailgate is also unique as it looks like a 65 tailgate but it is actually for this bed. Has all the wood still in the bed but it is old and should be sanded/restained. All in all its a great truck to just finish and drive as is, really powerful and WAY better on gas than original or you can blow it apart and build your own totally custom truck and already have a really engine/trans/bed on it already. last high bidder did not honor his bid, please do not bid if your not serious and now because of him, if you have zero feedback you must email me 1st before you bid or your bid will be deleted. Sorry for the inconvience Title: The title is a Clean and Clear Arizona title (NOT salvage or branded in anyway), and it shows 99,000 actual miles on the title. It will be notorized and mailed overnight to you as soon as your entire payment clears my bank. Payment: $500 deposit due at the close of auction (or within 24hours) by PayPal, the rest is due within 3 days, no personal checks if not by Paypal or certified check then we have to talk about your payment method. Shipping/Storage: I will hold the truck for free (after I recieve "full" payment) for a period of 10-15days after that we would have to discuss your needs but I am here to help you. Will also help your shipping company in anyway I can to get the truck loaded and to you. I can give you the number of a company a friend of mine used to ship a car from here to New York (and it cost him about 1100, I used them to ship here to Hollywood,CA and it cost me 300 so you have an idea). Any arrangement that you make with any shipping company though is between them and you and Im only in it to help them get your vehicle loaded. I will text/email you pictures of the truck loaded on your transport if you like though so you know its coming and the condition of it. Also I will maintain my Full-Coverage auto insurance on it until it reaches you just in case. Legal Stuff: I know everyone knows this already but just in case there are any questions about it here it is: The truck is sold "As-Is", does not have a warranty, I have described everything to the best of my knowledge and am not responsible for anything that I didnt know. Also if your local in Arizona, YES you can absolutely come by and test drive the truck anytme you want and I encourage it cause really when you see how much better this engine/trans make the truck feel you will be in love.
