Vehicle Detail
1984 Chevrolet Corvette C4 Two-Door Hatchback Coupe ALL ORIGINAL. Not cut up or messed with. Excellent for restoration or keep as a daily driver. I got this vette from an auction. I was told it was donated from an estate sale and I am the second owner. The car had been sitting for several years and thats when I bought it. I had bought it to clean it up and use it as a daily driver, but my daughter just graduated and I need to help fund her school. I have done some work to it. THE GOOD: Engine: runs good, no smoke. 97K miles. Starts up very easliy. No engine rattles or noises. Sounds mean. A/C: Compressor activates and turns on, gets cool, but it could use a can of freon to get it colder and it would be fine. It does not leak. Tranny: shifts good. No issues. Electrical: No problems. No shorts, since I bought it, it starts up everyday so I know it does not have any electrical shorts. Digital dash works perfect, electric windows roll up great, rear window actuates. Pop up headlight function perfect. All lights work. Body: It is the original paint, so you know it has never been wrecked. Understand the paint is 28 years old, could use a repaint or drive as is. Glass: No breaks or cracks. Removable Tops: No leaks. Since I bought it, I replaced one of the tires, drained the radiator, replaced the fuel filter, checked the cross fire injectors, adjusted the valves, wire brushed the valve covers down to the aluminum (look way better aluminum than painted) and replaced valve cover seals, sealed all vacuum leaks, repaired one of the exhaust heat shields and detailed the inside. THE BAD: Fuel Tank: Needs drained completely. When I bought it, the gas smelled old, I drained most of it except about 1/4 tank. I filled it up with premium thinking it would refresh the 1/4 tank that was left in it, but I can tell the tank needs drained completely and the sock in the tank cleaned out. Door Window Seals: Cracking but still seal. Drivers Door: The drivers door sags a bit, so you have to gently slam it to make it close. As you know the large chevrolet doors sag with time with normal use. Could just need an adjustment to get it right. Front Spoiler: The front bottom spoiler is torn. Needs a replacement. Also the rear lower plastic near the exhaust has a 3 inch tear. It can probably be repaired. Inside Rear View Mirror: Missing, needs a new one. Dashboard: Cracked. Steering Column: Steering is solid when turning, but the column moves up and down a bit. Probably just needs bolts tightened up. I have not checked it. I have described the Vette to the best of my knowledge. Low Retail Blue Book is $6,025, Average $9,850, High $17,200. I wanted to keep it, but daughters school took priority.
