1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 289 4V Automatic. Up for auction is a very nice 1965 Mustang Fastback (A-code) with a 289 4V automatic. The car has it's original engine which is a 289 8 cylinder 4V engine (block# C5AE-6015-E date code 5L8), C4 automatic and original 8" 3.00 rear axle. The engine runs very strong and appears to be mostly stock. The engine has a Cobra aluminum 4V intake, Edelbrock carburetor and headers. Both rear quarter panels and rear frame rails have been replaced. The hood, fenders, doors, trunk lid and valances are all very nice and solid. The floor pans are the originals and have only a couple of small repairs on each side. The shock towers, inner fender aprons and front frame rails are also solid and original. There are a few bubbles on the drivers side quarter panel where it was seamed in along the top edge. The Poppy red paint is very nice and respectable with a few minor chips. The car has a very nice black standard interior with bucket seats, Rally Pack and fold down rear seat. The trim panels are all very nice with speakers only in the trap door. The chrome trim and window moldings are all in very nice condition. The glass is all very nice and the original except the windshield has a small chip. The car also runs / drives very well with power steering and good drum brakes. The Torque Thrust wheels are brand new along with the rear tires. The front tires have very little wear. The car has many new parts including battery, power steering system, inner & outer tie rods, lower control arms and bumpers. This A-code fastback is an excellent vehicle that can be driven and enjoyed now. The door tag is still in place and the VIN is stamped on the fender apron. I have a clean title for the car.
