Mustang Mach 1, 1969 This magnificent 1969 Mustang Mach 1 is the result of the coordinated effort of two of New England’s masters of the Ford restoration community. It is so close to “original” that any Mustang collector would be proud to have it in his or her collection. The restoration was a “frame off” rotisserie project handled by the late Mike Henche who has built well over one hundred Mustangs during his long career as a Ford restorer. His work is well known in the collector community because he never took shortcuts or patch jobs. When necessary, body panels were replaced in their entirety and welded in place just like the factory did in those days. The result was a strong and original work of art that was hard to tell from new. Look closely at these high resolution pictures I have submitted and you will see what I mean. The undercarriage is as clean as the body work is perfect. I will be happy to supply more pictures if you need them, just ask. The engine and driveline work was done by Alan Dean, another very particular restorer who knew as much about engines and transmissions as anyone. In his spare time he worked as an aircraft A&P and was fully licensed to keep ‘em flying. I make no excuses for this Mustang, it is as fine a restoration that I have ever seen. Back to front, top to bottom, it is full of Ford factory OEM parts and, if shown, would likely range in the 95%category The paint color is Calypso Coral and is so unique that it is difficult to get consistent colors in the photographs I have attached. The color seems to change with the light and even when I used additional lightling as “fill” the colors seemed to dance around the car. It is a beautiful color that seems to match the personality of the Mach 1. The interior has been completely restored as well to complete the package. In my inspection of this car I noticed only one very small ¼ inch paint defect on the edge of the trunk lid that easily be repaired should you feel it necessary. This Mustang has a reserve that every Ford man “in the know” agrees is quite reasonable so please don’t ask what it is. I should mention that this vehicle has been offered for sale in other venues and I reserve the right to end this auction early up until the reserve has been met at which time it will be a winner take all eBay auction.
