Vehicle Detail
This auction is for 1 1984 Dodge Colt GTS Turbo. This Colt has just over 75,000 miles on it and has an 8 speed Manual Twin-Stick transmission. This car in an exceptional smooth runner and is in great condition. There is NO body rust as this has been stored since 1991, then driven about 1500 miles in the last 2 years. This GTS starts right up and pulls hard through all 8 speeds. It idles and stops great too. I have been using this as my daily driver to save on fuel and when I mentioned to a few of my MOPAR buddies I was thinking of modifying the suspension, adding a bigger exhaust, raising the turbo a few psi and driving it in the winter, they told me they’d kick my ass. So here it is on ebay because it’s not right to modify one of the last remaining GTS Colts in this low mileage condition with all the CAR and DRIVER history. The interior is exceptional with no tears, bad smells, stains, or cracks. The cassette player is original and works great, but the clock on the das does not always show function properly. Recent repairs include a new fuel pump, new windshield, newer tires, new downpipe, K&N air filter, current New York State inspection until 9/13. Also includes 2 racing tires: Yokohama A-008Rs mounted on rims, extra oil filter, original owner’s manual, repair manual, and a car cover. The twin stick transmission works like a 4 speed close ratio transmission when in power mode, but step on the clutch and shift into economy mode and there is another 4 speeds. YIt’s like having 2 transmissions. If you can manage to keep your foot from testing the turbo with every shift, you’ll get around 45 miles to the gallon. This car only weighs just less than 1900 lbs. This Colt was previously owned by Car and Driver Senior Technical Editor Don Schroeder, and includes original CAR and DRIVER Test Track Results from 9/21/91 along with other documentation. The mileage on the car was on the test day was 73,613 and the mileage now is only 1500 miles higher. This specific car was mentioned in an article by Csaba Csere in 2002 shown here: http://www.caranddriver.com/columns/a-death-in-the-family
