Vehicle Detail
Up for your consideration is a 1983 Honda CB1100F. I purchased this bike a couple of months ago with the intention of restoring it this winter, as these bikes are quickly becoming collectibles and values are on the rise. It was Honda's first real hot rod and Cycle World tests at 11.13 seconds/120.48 mph quarter mile and 141 mph half mile earned it the designation of "fastest stock bike ever tested" at the time. My situation changed and I will be moving shortly and will no longer be able to follow through with my plans to restore the bike. The individual I purchased the bike from reported it had been in storage since 1997 stating the stator went bad. He put the bike in storage with plans to repair it, but never completed the repair. I have no reason to doubt the credibility of fellow that sold it to me, but I have not verified the condition of the bike and make no warranties as to its mechanical condition. Cosmetically, the bike is in fair shape, probably a 5 out of 10. There are chips in the paint, the tank has two dents (see pictures) and the faring is scuffed (see pictures). The valve covers and aluminum surfaces are beginning to pit, but it's not bad and should polish out OK. The seat is ripped in two places. The bike comes with spare parts including a set of new cables, another set of handlebars, the air box, tail light, one set of blinkers and other miscellaneous parts. The tires hold air, but need to be replaced, and it will need a battery. Even though this bike was made for just one year, parts are plentiful. Any parts you might need are most likely available on ebay. All in all, it's a solid bike and should be a fun winter project. This is a no reserve, shill free, absolute auction, and will sell to the highest bidder. Purchaser is responsible for shipping. A $250 deposit is required via paypal at the auction close, with the balance due (including cleared funds) prior to shipping or pick up.
