Up for auction is a 1971 Pontiac Firebird Esprit Project Car. This car was originally a V8 Automatic car, the original engine & trans are gone & it now has a 350 Chevy w/ a 200C trans. The engine seems to run pretty good but does have a knocking noise that I believe is a wrist pin on the left bank (its definately not a rod knock). Let me just start by saying that the front wheels & tires, & hood scoop DO NOT go with the car! I however will include some kind of wheels & tires for the front of the car that will hold air & roll (I have to return those parts to the previous owner). The hood has a round hole a lil bigger than a stock breather housing (it is NOT a shaker hood). This Firebird does run & drive but is not streetable in her current condition. I believe that the floors & frame rails are mostly intact & there's plenty to work w/ but she will need quarters & outer fenderwells on both sides, the rear valance panel is gone just like all 2nd generation F-Body's, & it will need a hood or it could be repaired if you know how to fix a big hole. The doors on this car still open & shut very nicely w/ very little effort (they are not sagging) & only need minor repair & they are original. The fenders are also in pretty good shape although the passenger side does have some dents they are minimal & would be easily repaired . The trunk pan may need to be replaced but you will have to be the judge of that. The front Valance Panel is included w/ the car but is not installed, a photo of it can be seen in the slideshow link. The metal Dash corners on this car are only showing what looks like surface rust in the corners & it hasnt spred too far like most early F-Body cars that rust out bad in this area. This car does have front disc brakes. I also do not have the bumpers or the console to this car & the windshield is cracked. The mileage shows 29736 but I feel its safe to say its over 100K. Please note that this car is in gray primer & that the color listed above is the original color as per the Cowl Tag. I do have a clear Indiana Title for this car.
