Vehicle Detail

1967 BMW R69S Up for auction is a beautiful, matching numbers 1967 BMW R69S with large Meier Sport tank and rare VDO tachometer. This has been my regular NYC ride and has never let me down. It's the most reliable vintage motorcycle I've ever owned. Mechanically the bike is tip top. Truly a first kick motorcycle. The engine is incredibly smooth and the original BMW factory issued mufflers are whisper quiet. The transmission is nice and tight, and is free of that all too common BMW clunk. This bike shifts smoothly through the gear box, both up and down, without hesitation. It simply gives a pleasant click when going from neutral to first, and shifting at speed is both tight and smooth. All electrics function as they should save for the horn which is anemic at best. The VDO tachometer functions perfectly. This bike just feels right when you're driving it. The handling is tight and the motorcycle over all is very sure footed. The engine is strong with no strange noises, operates with zero smoke and does not leak. This motorcycle is road ready. Cosmetically, the bike is in very nice condition. It is an older restoration but the chrome shines like new everywhere save for some oxidation on the spokes. The mufflers are either original or are new old stock as they the authentic factory pieces. They sound fantastic. There paint on the tank has been touched up on the top and along the left side. The front fender also has a touch up spot as well as does rear fender just around the two rear mounting holes. The motorcycle overall presents beautifully and draws a crowd every time I park it (which is no small feat in NYC!). The bike comes with the original tool kit (mostly there), Brown sidestand and handmade leather tank cover imported from Germany. I have the original sidestand as well, and will include it with the motorcycle. The title is clear and in my name, registered through the summer of 2013. I know I'll regret selling this one, but the funds are needed to complete my dream R68 restoration. I can't justify having both bikes, and hope the R69S goes to a good home. All shipping arrangements are to be made by the buyer at their expense. I will do my best to accommodate a smooth transaction on my end. The motorcycle is in a secure storage facility with 24 hour surveillance in Brooklyn, New York. Potential buyers are welcome to connect me with any questions via eBay or on my cell at 917 797 3380. A viewing can be arranged if you have a sincere interest in purchasing the motorcycle. Please examine the photos below as they speak volumes of the condition. Also be sure to view the YouTube video below demonstrating a cold start and overview of the functions and cosmetics.
