Vehicle Detail
Air Cooled is where it's at, and the Super Beetle is getting more collectible every day! This is a 1974 Super Beetle, Sun Beetle edition. The Sun Beetle came from the factory with a metal, hand-cranked sunroof. This car has a solid, stock dual-port 1600cc motor that still runs strong. I bought this car back in 2003 or 2004 without a title but have had no trouble buying tags for it every year since. I can write you up a bill of sale and that will work in for getting it tagged and insured in GA, not sure what is required in other states. There are lots of things that need to be fixed or worked on, and I will try to list as much as I can here. While the car is pretty solid overall, it needs a little love to get it back to daily driver condition.1. Brake pads were replaced all around, but master cylinder needs replaced, so brakes aren't really working. (I have a new master cylinder)2. Parking brake cable is broken.3. Battery is dead.4 Interior is pretty rough, seat covers are not ripped, but seat frames are in varying states of disrepair, meaning that they don't slide or recline properly. But they are fine for driving.5. Plenty of dings, dents, faded, peeled paint and some minor rust issues (battery area), though typical for an old Beetle. Cracked vinyl dash.6. No mufflers, so it's crazy loud!7. Mechanical parts to sun roof are broken, will need to be replaced. (Sun roof is not attached, repair kits can be purchased.)Again, it's a pretty solid car, an these are all things a VW enthusiast would be able to fix pretty easily.I paid $3,000 for this car. It did look better then because the paint was fresh.Serious inquiries only. You will probably need to tow the car away since the brakes are not working, but we'll start it up and drive it around my cul de sac so you can see how she runs.I am only selling this because I need the money.
