Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a used 2001 BMW F650GS with only 9,220 miles. This bike has been lowered to accomodate the shorter rider (bike is my wife's and she is 5'2" and flat foots on it!). The bike is Mandarin Yellow in color and here are the specifics: ABS Brakes. Kouba 1" lowering links (Kouba part #F650i-1.0 - $150.00 pair) and, unlike the OEM links, the Kouba's have a grease fitting on them. These links have only been on the bike < 1k miles but, I do not have the OEM links to include with this sale. To compensate for the 1" shorter link in the rear, the front forks were dropped 1" to maintain constant ride height. As you look at the bike in the picture, you will notice the rear tire is off the ground quite a bit when on the center stand. This is because neither the center stand nor the side stand were shortened in case I ever wanted to put the bike back to stock. If the bike had been lowered more than 1", it probably would have required both stands to be shortened. Givi windshield (Givi #D234S and retails for $110.00) 16" high and 13.4" wide. Windshield has a small spider crack on the right lower mounting bolt, otherwise very good condition. Throttlemeister cruise control and bar end weight (part # FH and AB8 and retails for $135 for the pair). Both bar ends have minor scuffs on each end. Foam grips over the stock grips for a little more diameter and dampening. This bike does NOT have heated grips but, can easily be added as the switch plate is there by the ABS shut off switch. Aftermarket mirrors, including a 10mm adapter. The OEM mirrors were too tall and my wife preferred the shorters ones. I do have the originals and will include them in the purchase. Michelin T66 radials front and rear but, will likely need replacing within 1k - 2k miles. Two keys. The oil / filter was changed at 9k miles. Will include three oil filters with the purchase. Now for the bad stuff....on the left side of the bike (you can see it in one of the pictures), the yellow oblong decorational "thingy" on the fuel tank is missing (directly below the seat), these can be bought from BMW but, I just have not done it. The "F650GS" decals are flaking in the silver lettering area. I do not have the owner's manual nor the tool kit. I am the third owner of this bike, have had it since Spring 2012, put about 1k miles on it and do not have any service records. I do know the bike was purchased from BMW M/C of Grand Rapids, MI...that is about it. The bike is in nice condition with one minor paint chip about 1/16th" or so on the lower left side of the "tank" where it meets the seat. All of the body work is in very nice condition with no cracks, stress marks, gouges, etc. The seat is in good condition as well with no modifications to the seat. All gauges, indicator lights, lights, high beam, turn signals, brake lights, horn, ABS, etc. work as they should. The wheel bearings and steering head bearings all appears to be in good order as the wheels spin true with no drag nor wobble and the steering turns from lock-to-lock without any drag. The brake pads all appear to be in good shape as well as the brake stops as it should with no pulsating, etc. in the braking action. Besides the common driveway tip over (only evidenced by the scratches on the bar ends), the bike has never been wrecked to my knowledge and not used off road (maybe a gravel road). Even though the chain and both sprockes are original, they are in good condition with no turned, bent sprocket teeth, nor sags, rust, etc. in the chain. I actually use automatic transmission fluid on each link / rubber O ring as a chain lube as AT fluid is made to keep rubber gaskets moist and in good condition. Besides the OEM mirrors and three oil filters mentioned above, what you see in the pictures is what is included in this auction. I do not have a tank bag, side bags, rear bag, etc. that are included. The only reason I am selling the bike is we just bought a 2010 F650GS "twin" for my wife and have no further need for this one. I can help with delivery by taking the bike to a local truck stop and handing it over to a delivery truck at no extra charge. I have done this in the past and it works out good as it saves you a few bucks by having the bike picked up at a commercial location vs. our home. However, I will not crate the bike. I require a $500.00 deposit within 48 hours after the end of the auction via PayPal with the remainder due either in cash or bank money order within 7 days after the end of the auction. The bike will not be released from me, nor the title signed over from me to you until ALL funds have cleared my bank. I am starting the auction at a reasonable $2,900.00 with NO RESERVE! I do have this bike for sale locally and reserve the right to end this auction early if the bike sells. Check out my 100% positive feedback and bid with confidence! Thanks for looking and please contact me with any questions - also, feel free to call my cell phone @ 765-469-1730 (Mike). NOTE: I am on ebay from Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm. Any questions after 5pm Friday will be answered on Monday morning.
