Vehicle Detail
1986 Jeep CJ7 - The last of a breed! Last year for the CJ and the most desired optioned CJ. This Jeep is truly a show-stopper! It's easier to tell you what is NOT original on this jeep rather than go through all of the original parts. The radio is not original however the dash was not cut. It is a period correct, shaft-style radio. The dash speakers were replaced with Polk Audio and I've added speaker wedges behind the front seats, also with Polk-Audio speakers. Easy enough to remove. The jeep has a Howell Fuel injection system that was installed by the previous owner. The computer is located in the glove box area and the small fuel-light sensor is mounted just beneath the cigarrette lighter. The jeep was recently repainted and there were three small areas that were cut out and replaced with metal - NOT BONDO! There were small spots just in front of each door (Typical on cj's) and in the back just under the tailgate hinge on the driver's side. I have before, during, and after pictures of the spot repairs just in case anyone wants to verify the quality of the restoration. The jeep was brought back to the original color and a new decal striping kit was installed. The frame doesn't have a spot of rust or rot on it and there are no areas where it's been patched (that I can see - and believe me, I've been intimately under this thing). The rear end was sagging just a bit so I replaced the springs on all four corners along with shocks. The suspension was replaced with stock components which were the HD springs. The stance is perfect and it drives down the road perfectly. Additionally, there was an exhaust leak, so I replaced all of the exhaust components from the manifold to the tailpipe. I used a stock catalytic converter as well as muffler. The interior is near perfect. The seats are in great condition without any loose stitches or tears and the carpet is original. It is missing one rear floor-mat however I think they are pretty easy to pick up. The rear seat is a fold-and-tumble and it has a shallow, metal storage box beneath it. All gauges work, yes - even the fuel gauge. The clock works great and the tach works, however the tach does "jump" under a load. The jeep has a hard top along with hard doors, half soft doors and a bikini top. I will also include an original storage box in great shape. This jeep is gorgeous! It looks great and it drives perfectly. I've driven this back and forth to Grand Rapids (2 1/2 hours each way) several times this summer. We use it in our family to go to local car shows and grab ice cream. Like I said, I have mixed feelings about selling it but I need to get rid of one of them. I currently have it over at my in-laws house as my garage space is limited. If you need additional pics of anything, it may take a day or two. I'm sure I've missed something, so feel free to drop a line. If you'd like to talk to me, leave your phone number and I'll call you. Thanks for looking and happy bidding! I'm absolutely positive you won't be disappointed. Lastly, the title is clean and clear. I will require a deposit 24 hours after the end of the auction and cash or wire transfer works best for me, but I'm sure we can work it out if you're the high bidder - any funds must be cleared before the jeep leaves. I'll assist with loading the jeep or scheduling a private inspection.
