1982 Mercedes Benz 380 SL German engineering at it's finest. This car is in above average condition. 91,000 miles; runs good, cold A/C new iPhone compatible CD radio. Interior is in great shape minor tear in drivers door panel (see photos) no holes tears stains or rips in seats or carpet. Cam chains upgraded. Carpet and floor mats are in very good condition and appear to be original. I bought this car from my Doctor a few months ago and I drive it everyday! Very dependable and a true pleasure to drive. This is one of those Classics that draws a crowd. I have checked it inside and out for rust and can find none visible. There are a few very small bubbles in the paint. I do not know the entire history of the car but here are some things that if I were a prospective buyer I would want to know: It has a minor oil leak (I'm not sure if it is trans or engine) The door window seals will need to be replaced soon (leak air and a few drops of water in high pressure car wash) Engine runs great and strong but a little rough at idle sometimes ... Not all the time but on occasion. (these cars are fast cars, not real quick off the line but light and fast) A/C works very good blows hard but stays on the defrost and vent mode all the time when on but blower speeds work as designed (air blows out dash vents and defrost vents even when dash only is selected???) it is a "blend air system" that works great otherwise. There is some slack in shift linkage not enough to worry with but enough that it is noticeable. Has an aftermarket exhaust system from catalytic convertor to tail pipe (although sufficient it is not pretty) Vacuum door lock motor works when it wants to. Rear brakes squeak sometimes even after a recent brake job. Comes with original first aid kit, jack, and spare tire, the MB tool kit is not with the car. Original "Becker" radio comes with the purchase Lower chrome molding has been replaced but the original molding comes with purchase. Overall on a one to ten I would rate the car a high seven or low eight. It appears to be all there, original, and a sound vehicle, it drives, runs and handles nicely even at speeds I will not admit to. I have several much newer vehicles parked in my driveway I choose this one over the others every time. So why is it for sale? Kingwood/Houston Texas "Homeowners Association" and too many cars .... Need I say more. Something has to either be sold or go into storage. If you have question please ask. I have great EBAY feedback and wish to keep it that way.
