1978 GMC Sierra Grande relisted with a new LOWER PRICE. Now relisted again as the last buyer fell through for the second time. Please, please , please do not even consider bidding if you can't or won't follow through. This is the 3rd listing as the first 2 buyers clearly do not take this seriously. I can't impress enough how I and other sellers are absolutely sick of the deadbeats that bid or offer without funds or intentions. I will now require an immediate deposit of $200 and 12 hour communication limit. So, if you make me an offer and I take it. I need pick up arrangments in my inbox in 12 hours or less or your $200 becomes my $200 and the sale gets cancelled. Sorry to be so firm on this but I can no longer tolerate weeks of my time being wasted. I bought this truck as a project from a man who has had it stored in his attached garage for over 20 years. It is an original Michigan truck but has never had any rust. The mileage is original with just over 71,000. He started to restore it but just took it apart and let it sit. It was a destined for a drag truck so all of the original body panels were gone beside the doors and cab. As you can see by the pictures, it has just undergone a fresh frame-off restoration. Many parts are new and I will try to list them all but there are plenty of details and I am sure I will miss some. The build sheet lists a stepside box, no trim, saratoga silver paint, red interior, 3.40 gear. Body: It has all LMC sheetmetal except for the cab, doors, hood, and core support. The cab and doors have no patches or filler and was in perfect condition when I got it. The entire box is new including hardware and brackets. The bed floor is oak with poly coating. New front fenders, inners, and battery box. The truck was painted completely apart so every panel is painted inside and out including the bed support rails and the bottom of the cab. It is a single stage metallic silver. New poly cab mounts and hardware. Bumpers and brackets are new and painted black with Acrylic Urethane. It has the correct stepside rear bumper. Tailgate is an original but not rusted. I don't want to overstate the paint job or body. It is good driver quality. There is no rust anywhere and has never been rusty but the paint is not show-car quality. Extra paint is included in case one wants to change the tailgate to GMC. Chassis: The chassis was cleaned back in the late 80s when it was parked. Freshened up with extreme chassis black. Gas tank was new at that time as well and never had any corrosion as it was dry stored. Rear brakes are new including drums, shoes, hardware, wheel cylinders, and brake lines. one front calipers has been replaced and 4 new shocks. the drivetrain is non-numbers matching. It is a fresh .030 over 350 / TH350. Edelbrock performer intake and a new manual choke Edelbrock carb. Mild cam, headers with duals and flowmasters that dump right before the axle. Rear axle is a non-original 10 bolt but has the correct 3.40 gear. New seals and fluid. Runs very strong and sounds great. I have added a new HEI distributor since the last listing. Also added since the last listing is Magnaflow cats in the exhaust and new emergency brake cables. Interior: Original red door panels and dash pad are in excellent condition. Carpet was bought new in 1990 but never used until now. New red velour seat upholstery. Looks very nice. New seatbelts have been added since the last listing Still needs a few things. The wheels need to be done yet and the tires have tread but are not very nice. It has a Chevy grille and tailgate, not GMC. Since the pics I have added a perfect set of proper GMC Sierra Grande fender emblems and a factory AM/FM 8 track player. The radio works but the 8 track does not. I have this for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. I will trade locally too. I am looking for european projects, cars with log books, whatever else.
