2000 EV Porsche 911 Convertible - FAST!70,000 miles Clear TN title in hand. Due to lack of time I am selling a nice 2000 EV Porsche Convertible. The car is incredibly fast and fun to drive with the right set up. Considerable amount of $$ invested in the car! 0-60 in neck-braking time. It was set up for acceleration more than range with a 11" motor powered by 24 led acid batteries to create a 300 Volt system. With this set up it got approx 30 mile range per charge. Uses original gearbox. Put it in 3rd gear and take off unless you want the back wheels to just spin in 1st or 2nd gear. Usually keep it in 3rd gear on roads up to 45-50mph and go to 4th or 5th gear on interstate. Body and interior is in good shape. See pictures for details on a few scratches on back fender and a little scratch in soft-top. Window in soft-top needs to be replaced/fixed due to oxidation. Hard top in good condition. Unfortunately, during an autocross event in 2011, the controller was damaged from what I believe may have been moisture inside the controller box. The controller therefore short circuited (actually was completely charred inside) and according to Manzanita, it is not salvageable. Some of the electrical components of the car have been taken out with the intent to upgrade and put in lithium batteries to extend driving range while still keeping same acceleration performance. However, between work and currently building a new house I don't have time or funds to get the car back on the road the way I planned. Project is sold as is with no warranty. The car has following components: Motor: Warp 11" high voltage - (tested to function OK after batteries taken out by direct connecting single battery to motor) Manzanita Micro charger (PFC40) H20 Resivour for cooling system SW-200 Contactor Batteries: 25 x Odyssey PC 1200 BMS: Lee Hart Battery crates are located in the back (behind and besides motor), in the front storage space and between front storage space and dashboard. (a little hard to get to) Air condition system connected to motor. Would consider switching to electric system. Custom made individual battery voltage check and equalizer from cockpit. (Made by "Green Shed Conversions" based out of Florida) Upgrades needed to get the car on the road:- Buy new controller w/hairball that needs to be connected/wired- batteries need to be put in and connections and wiring should be checked and I would create a wiring diagram. (was not done last time they were installed)- buy new heavy duty/double contactor. The current one still mechanically functions but was shocked when controller failed (minor melting of connection pointsOther upgrades I would consider:- Electric power steering (currently only works when motor is rotating)- Electric a/c- New better sealed vacuum pump for brakes (current works fine, but comes on automatically (makes noise) more often than it should)- May also consider switching to lithium batteries (big investment) and a LCD display controlled BMS system. The Manzanita controller was not salvageable so Manzanita disposed of it. It was a 2K Zilla model 2K-HV, Hairball 2 Zilla Interface (Now Destroyed) Looking to sell everything as a whole. It is a nice car that will make a great project to get a fun EV back on the road. Will consider selling the batteries and hard top separately. PS: I do not have the old gas engine any more. On Sep-25-12 at 13:27:41 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: When charging and balancing the batteries, it seems like one battery and possibly slightly on another are not perfectly keeping up at the same level with all the other batteries. So one or possibly two batteries may need to be switched out.
