Vehicle Detail

Up for auction from my personal collection is my 1971 Honda CB750 Four K1 in candy garnet brown. I purchased this CB750 some time ago with the intent of doing a complete and show quality restoration. I targeted this particular CB750 because it is an early example and is very complete and very original. I felt it would be an excellent starting point to do a complete and show quality restoration with. The frame number appearing on this CB750 is CB750-1118944 and the engine number is CB750E-1118881 making this a numbers matching correct original motorcycle. The odometer currently reads 11,777 miles which I believe are original and correct. I now realize I do not have the time to do all the restorations I had originally planned on or time to give this early CB750 the attention it really deserves so I have decided to let it go to a new owner. I am convinced the new owner will have an excellent starting point for a show quality restoration or could easily have a very nice early CB750 with a light, frame on restoration and some general maintenance. Mechanically, this CB750 did run when parked some time ago. The engine turns over smoothly with good compression and the gear box appears to shift correctly. Since it has been parked for so long, the new owner will no doubt need to perform some general maintenance if the bike is to be used as is. I believe this would be an excellent candidate for a restoration as it is very original and complete and in overall good condition. The engine appears to have never been apart and retains its original and correct components. The carburetors are also the correct originals. When purchasing this CB750, I did feel that the engine was very sound and would need only inspection and would most likely not need to be rebuilt during the restoration. As you know, these CB750’s are very durable and with this low of miles there would be no real need to do an engine rebuild. Cosmetically, this CB750 shows some patina and the original body work is faded from the sun. The fuel tank is solid and does not have any major damage and would be an excellent fuel tank to repaint to show quality. The inside of the fuel tank is still shiny metal and was drained when this motorcycle was parked. The seat is the correct original and is in overall good condition and could be used as is on a driver. The original exhaust pipes are also very nice and were another reason that I target this particular CB750. They appear to be overall very solid and in presentable condition. They could be used as is or re-chromed to show quality as they are the early original stamped exhaust pipes. The chrome on the rest of the CB750 is presentable and all the components could be used as is or re-chromed including the front and rear rims and the front and rear chrome fenders. The gauges are also damaged and will need replacing or restoring. The original turn signals as well air box assembly are also present and in good overall condition. The early CB750 models have always been a favorite of mine but unfortunately I do not have time to enjoy all the Japanese motorcycles I have accumulated over the years so it is time to let a few go and let you enjoy them as I have. I had originally planned to do a complete show quality restoration on this early, original CB750 at some point as this is a very deserving candidate. I am convinced the new owner will have an outstanding starting point to do a complete or show quality restoration with or do some general maintanence and restoring on this particular example and enjoy it. I would like to stress that this CB750 should not be confused with other ’s offered by the general public. It is overall very clean, correct and complete with most of the very hard to find parts in overall good original condition. It is very rare to find an early production CB750 offered for sale especially from a reliable collector with excellent feedback from selling New Old Stock parts and motorcycles from his collection. I also of course have a clear title in my name as well as original key for this CB750. Regarding Payment and Shipping, I will accept a wire transfer or a certified check for this CB750. Payment must be received within 10 days of the close of the auction. I will and can assist with shipping this bike anywhere in the USA or any other country in the World.
