This car is number 1,341 of a total of 4,126 Porsche 911T Karmann's produced in 1970. In 1970 the chassis serial numbers ran from 9110120001 to 9110124126; this vehicle's chassis number is 9110121341. This 911T was built in Stuttgart, Germany in November 1969 and was a California car for much of its life before being purchased by a Minnesota owner in the early 1990's. This car has been in my immediate family since 1992. The car has been in storage in Minnesota for the bulk of the that time, with only occasional summer use and the usual maintenance upkeep. In preparation for sale, this summer I had the carburetors overhauled. The car is in good running condition, and as you can imagine, is a joy to drive.Power comes from its original 2.2 liter (2,195cc) flat-six air-cooled engine, producing 125 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 130 foot-pound torque at 4,200 rpm. Some time prior to the 1992, the carburetors were upgraded replacing the factory Zenith 40 TIN carburetors with the more desirable Weber 40 IDA triple throat carburetors (overhauled in July 2012). The transmission is the original five-speed type 911/01 (which was an optional upgrade as the four-speed was standard). The color is "Albert blue," paint code 1818. It was last repainted to match the original in 1994 and, although there are a few blemishes, it continues to show magnificently. The three notable blemishes include: a series of chips around the gas tank opening (someone tried to pry it open while it was outside at the shop); a 1.5" peeling crack on the passenger side door; and a series of hairline cracks on the passenger side door. There is also a small white a scuff over the right rear wheel. Still overall I would consider the paint to be in good condition. This summer I installed a replacement battery (a single Interstate U911 on the right side). The trunk area is very clean and the rugs are in good condition, but there is some surface rust, particularly in the battery wells. The interior is in very good condition. The rugs and vinyl seats are in great shape. As you can see from the photos, the stereo is missing. Also, the odometer has never worked since we bought the car; I'm not sure of the mileage. The gas gauge works, but occasionally sticks around the half-tank mark. The driver's side lock sometimes sticks and is difficult to get locked. The bottom of the car has some rust. Most of the rust is surface rust only, but there three holes in the floor. Two of the holes have been patched (but not welded), one of the holes is untreated. All three equally present a great opportunity for a Porsche hobbyist to get underneath and make the repairs. Other non-original alterations include the fact that the chrome has been painted black--this was done prior to 1992. I expect that the chrome is still underneath the paint if someone were to take the time to remove it. Some people like to point out that the bumpers and door handles are non-original, but I believe that they are, just painted black. The fog lights are non-original. The driver's side mirror is non-original. And, the rims are cookie cutters from a later model Porsche (originals would be Fuchs). With the car, I will also include paperwork from much of the maintenance, the original drivers manual, some related service manuals, and a bra that came with the vehicle when we purchased it.
