Vehicle Detail
VERY RARE MODEL, ONE YEAR ONLY BODY STYLE. Only a handful have survived. Have owned this car Ten Years, Put less than a thousand miles on the car in the years of ownership. Nice running, push button Transmission. Work recently done in the last few years. new tires, brake job, gas tank replace and all gas lines. All new lenses and some nameplates. Tune up and general inspection to make the car drivable. This Ambassador does have Air Conditioning but I've never tried to use it. Not sure if it functions. Lots of new chrome or trim, Head Lamp Surround, Grill, front bumper, fender spears and side view mirror. One rim is slightly bent and should be replaced before driving. Roof was painted by a local body shop 2 years ago. I've enjoyed taking the cars to shows. It's now time for a new owner to complete the restoration. the body has rust spots on the front fenders. Much underside repairs were done by the previous owner. I'm the third owner of this car. It should have repair work to the engine supports which hold the engine in place. It puts out a lot of blue smoke when it runs. It does settle down after a while. There is not rapping or ticking noise from the engine, the engine is extremely smooth. This is not a concours condition restored old car, it's just an old car. That over the years has been painted and reuphostered...and mended. To be worth the kind of money these cars can be worth, it would need a complete restoration. You're not buying a 20,000 dollar car for 750 bucks, you're buying a car worth 750 bucks. (or maybe a little more). It's just a nice old car that has survived. Please note things like the Steering Wheel, it's all there, no cracks with nice color, the dash board...all the chrome knobs and butttons are there and in nice condition. It's not missing anything. It's all there. You have a great building block to start from. The engine is a solid good running engine that surely needs a tune up and adjustments. The brakes work fine.....the tranmission works.....abiet, slowley sometimes for reverse. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NBi799gy8I I'll store the car for a 4 weeks but then it's 60 dollars a month. Maine doesn't issue Titles for vehicles this old, it will only come with a Title letter from the State of Maine. I reserve the right to end the auction early, the car is for sale locally. On Sep-15-12 at 03:50:48 PDT, seller added the following information: Please also note, the car comes with an extra Rear Left Side NOS Bumper, they usually sell for about 100 dollars on ebay. There are some extra parts too that come with the car in the trunk. trim and chrome pieces and one or two extra wheel covers. I think even an extra air cleaner. All have some value. On Sep-15-12 at 05:11:49 PDT, seller added the following information: Comes with NOS outside Door Handles too. Each door should be adjusted. They all open and close but they don't close tightly. I'll be adding a video tomorrow and more pictures. Will show the car running and moving. On Sep-15-12 at 10:18:33 PDT, seller added the following information: Some additional Videos. Took the car for a test run...brakes pulled to the left a bit...the rim on the front right side should be replaced...it's a bit bent and causes the ride to be rough. You would really want to fix this before you took the car on any kind of a trip. Nobody has asked me yet if the car could make a trip accross the county????? I would never recommend that. Trailering a car is best. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0iDEcNC0Tg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUsJYWbzQiM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCLHEV80JvUOn Sep-16-12 at 15:25:52 PDT, seller added the following information: MORE PICTURES ADDED TO THE VUVOX.COM PRESENTATION. Please note, all repair receipts while it was in my car and from the previous owner go with the car. The invoices go back to the mid 1980's. The car was originally from Freeport Maine, the home of L. L. Bean. On Sep-17-12 at 06:02:59 PDT, seller added the following information: TO BE CLEAR 100% CLEAR THIS IS AN AMC 327 NOT A CHEVY ENGINE.....THIS IS NOT A CHEVY ENGINE...OR ANYTHING FROM GM....IT'S ENTIRELY AN AMERICAN MOTORS DESIGN.
