NO RESERVE 1969 Honda Super 90 Rare Japanese Domestic Model Very Nice, Low Km's NR! Here is very unusual, if not rare find for you Honda fans. This old girl is in great condition and runs as good (even better) than she looks. This is the Japanese Domestic Only Model Honda S90, Super 90, Sport 90, Type II motorcycle. It differs from the US import model in various ways. While the general appearance is very similar, a close look will reveal subtle but definitive differences: The transmission is still the solid four speed unit, with a twist. It has the Rotary Shift pattern. (i.e.) From neutral, shift down for Low, down again for 2nd, 3rd, and High gear. Shifting down once more puts you in neutral again and ready to select 1st gear once more. A very handy feature for the busy Tokyo stop and go city traffic. It is factory equipped with directional signals or "Winkers" as Honda calls 'em. The fully enclosed drive chain and Kilometer Only speedometer also define this bike as the domestic unit. The VIN plate is written in Japanese as you can see and the only English characters I can identify are the "S90 and II 1157". I'm sure they are more differences, but the Honda's are not as familiar to me as I'd like. This Super 90 starts almost instantly and settles into a smooth quiet idle in a few moments. After a very brief warm-up it seems to have the throttle response of fuel injection.........Very UN-carburetor like......... NICE! The full range clutch and transmission are smooth as silk making this little gem a genuine pleasure to ride. The super quiet engine and mild 'purr' of the baffle-less exhaust takes you right back to the '60's. All of the factory 'Candy Blue' paint is in nice original condition and the chrome is basically decent to good. The seat, tank, exhaust, tank badges and other trappings are in great shape as well. Some extra NOS and used parts and a reprint shop manual are included as shown. Have a close look at the pictures to see ALL of the details. This little jewel does have some rough edges that will need smoothed out for the proper restoration that this bike richly deserves. The tank has had an external repair and 'Kreem' coated inside, but no leaks. The front fender has the typical 'nose job' wrinkles and some oxidation (I prefer to call it a "rich patina") has set in here and there and the handlebars seem tweaked a bit too. The base gasket has a bit of an oil leak that will need attention and the included parts suggest there may be a battery charging issue? Everything is just as I acquired it, other than a general tune-up.....carb cleaning, timing set, spark plug and valve adjustment........no problems.......it runs GREAT!
