I bought this Mustang about 10 to 12 years ago. I got it for my son so I went to fixing it up. This being a 4-cyl they had lousy rear ends so I put one in from 1979 6-cylinder. Since I was putting in a new rear end I replaced the brakes and wheel cylinders. Since I was doing the rear brakes, I also did the front brakes and master cylinder. It was for my son. I did it all - Shocks too. The clutch needed some work I thought so I pulled the transmission I put in a new clutch and throw out bearing. The cable was bad so I replaced it and the clutch cable housing. Since I was down there and had the Trans out I opened it up. The gears and cluster where in great shape so I replaced the bearings and syncros just in case. When I put it all back together I did the U Joints and starter as well. So I went up top. Put in a new Radiator and water pump - heater core and all of the hoses. Did not want him to have any problem there. The fuel filter was plugged so…. We pulled the fuel tank and had it boiled out and resealed. Changed out the fuel lines and filter. Rebuilt the Carb too. Put in a new smog pump and a tune up. Took it on down to get the CA smog done. It passed no problem. About this time, he informed me he could not drive a stick. This is true. I had not thought about that. I stopped working on it. It had an add on AC unit I pulled off. I left the part under the dash in case I wanted to put AC back in the car some day and drove it for about 2 -3 weeks back and forth to work 43 miles each way. It drove fine with no issues. It has been sitting since then. I would start it up from time to time. It has a full set of Cobra mags on it with all of the original caps on them. There is no body rust. It needs the interior and top done. The moon roof does not leak. The dash is always an issue on these so I put in a new one for the cluster and gages. So all the dash lights work. It has a new Jenson radio in it. Did put in some speakers. Do not remember what they are. Cannot find any bondo on the body that I can remember. You will need a new battery and tires on the car right away. The mirror on the passenger’s side is missing. Never got around to getting one. The speedometer cable is broken. I was going to put in a new one and the cable housing as well. Never got to it. That as all that is left to do on the car. The car had not been registered all of this time. It is not even in the DMV data base do I cannot tell you what it will cost. That is on you. I do have the pink slip the dealer gave me. I drove it about 10 miles 2 weeks ago. I moved it. Tired of it sitting around the house so I am selling it. Fun car not too many of them around anymore. I have some extra parts in the shed I hope to dig out you can have if I can get to them.
