Vehicle Detail
Condition: Car is in fair condition per Kelley Blue Book terms. The engine is definitely the best part about the car as we put in a new factory engine about 35,000 miles ago and it runs really well still. It has a new battery as of two weeks ago. The car passed MO state inspection last summer and I suspect it would pass again as-is now since not much has changed. At the most I believe it would need a few minor upgrades. I drove the car around last week without any issues besides needing the new battery that was installed. This car is supercharged and still has the raw Supercoupe power left in it. Specifics: What works well would be the power locks, windows, steering and the moon roof. What works fair to good would be the power seats and doors. The handles on the doors are pretty useless as they've come loose and the door hinges sag a little. I typically roll the windows down a bit and lift up on the top window sill as I shut the door to make it latch properly and that works fine. What isn't working is the odometer which quit about 15-25,000 miles ago. So the car actually has a few more miles on it than the odometer says. Also the stereo isn't working and needs to be replaced. As you can see from the pictures, the driver and passenger seats are both in rough shape. Seats from a salvage yard Thunderbird or Mercury Cougar should fix that. The A/C has always worked but typically needs Freon added every couple of years due to a slow leak and it has been over a couple years since last added. History: This car has been in my family for the past 12 years as it has been owned by both my parents and myself throughout that time period. It was always very-well maintained with regular maintenance. This car was treated as a gem for us as the rarity of the car was very respected. I believe the dealership told us the car's transmission was replaced prior to us taking ownership around 90,000 miles but I couldn't verify that with documentation. I will definitely miss having this car around! I'm selling it because I moved out of state from MO to TX and didn't have the garage space to take it with me. I'm also about to start a family as I'm recently married and don't have the time and resources to make this into the dream car I've always wanted to turn it into. Shipping and Payment: Buyer is responsible for shipping/pickup. The car is located just outside of Kansas City in Lone Jack, MO. A friend is holding it and I have family in the area to help with the sale. I'll accept Paypal for the deposit and a money order, cashier's check or cash for the remainder. On Aug-22-12 at 21:05:15 PDT, seller added the following information: ****To specify, it's the interior door handles that I was referring to as being "pretty useless".On Aug-23-12 at 21:29:12 PDT, seller added the following information: ****One thing to clarify, I just spoke with my dad who owned the car during the engine work mentioned up in the second sentence. When that work was done, the lower block was replaced i.e. block, pistons, and crank. The heads and intake were not included in that work. So if I could revise the original description, I would change the "factory engine" part. I want to make sure you're as knowledgeable as possible to bid appropriately and to clarify as much as possible. Sorry for any confusion.
